The Officine Fuoriserie program of Maserati has been revamped anew in taking customisation to another level. With much deeper customer participation in bespoke design and even one-off creation, Maserati is offering something like a luxury experience never done before.
Maserati Personalises it Further with Officine Fuoriserie
Maserati unveiled the new take on its Officine Fuoriserie program, which would provide unprecedented levels of customisation to its owners. While the house had always allowed personalisation in various colour, trim, and material choices, this new initiative brings customers directly into the design process, letting them create a truly one-of-a-kind Maserati.
The new 4,000-square-metre Fuoriserie wing, which costs €11 million, is located at Maserati's headquarters in Modena, Italy. It houses a state-of-the-art paint shop that combines robotic precision with hand-finishing techniques. The initiative is celebrated remarkably by the brand as it also marks a centenary of its iconic Tridente (Neptune's Trident), a symbol of Maserati's legacies in luxury, performance, and craftsmanship.
Exclusive Customisation for Two Tiers
All models of Maserati will be offered the new Fuoriserie programme from Grecale SUV to MC20 supercar under two categories:
1. Collezione- Pre-Curated Personalisation
This, for those who want themes by Maserati design, will house these two collections:
Collezione Futura - For contemporary technology-futuristic pattern-experimental materials like laser-etched panes and advanced upholstery fabrics.
Collezione Corse - Referencing Maserati's glorious motorsport history full of old-school racing liveries, typical tanned leather and anodized metal finishes.
2. Bespoke- a wholly individualised Maserati
For unique customisation, the Bespoke level would have customers involved in every detail of design. Customers can illustrate their paint shades. Develop their own liveries, select every material, trim, and finish, hold sketches, renderings, material samples, and even a visit to Maserati's Centro Stile design studio with the head of design, Klaus Busse.
But naturally, this process of such personalized customisation extends the cost and production timeline.
Maserati's "No Limits" Philosophy - Almost Never
Maserati promises an "unlimited" customisation experience, but there are two caveats:
Quality - Every car must meet Maserati's high standards of craftsmanship.
Safety - All modifications must adhere to strict safety regulations
"We do not say no to customers," says Davide Baldini, head of Fuoriserie. Though he admits that in many cases, guiding custodians through the process is necessary as most of them may not be well-versed in designing at this level. Experts help turn ambitious ideas into reality while maintaining brand integrity.
Fusing Traditional Craftsmanship with Modern Technology
Maserati combines cutting-edge automation with true hand-finishing in the Fuoriserie process. One such exacting instance is the MC20 Cielo "Less is more...?", a one-off that uses matte and gloss, among other techniques. This is achieved through:
Full Matte
Hand-polished select areas to a high-gloss finish
Custom-painted Bauhaus-style Tridente logos
Unlike many car manufacturers that restrict logo changes, Maserati encourages even reinventing the legendary Trident emblem to customer preferences.
Officine Fuoriserie Open for Indian Customers
The Fuoriserie programme has been opened to customers in India, as all Maseratis are built-to-order and not restricted by region. Maserati also emphasizes opening more dealerships in India so customers could actually experience the dear Fuoriserie process in special showroom areas housing material and trim samples.
Of course, this complete global rollout is still on course, with dealership staff undergoing training on the nuances of the Fuoriserie programme. Maserati will not be constrained in its attempts to make bespoke offers available to a wider audience of luxury car enthusiasts.
Maserati's Next Step in Luxury Customisation
The redesigned Officine Fuoriserie gives one more punch to Maserati's identity-not just a performance but also a true luxury manufacturer that builds a highly exclusive made-to-measure experience. It now offers an unmatched level of personalisation, marking the difference from the competitor, for those in search of the sports car that symbolizes their personality.
For Indian clients looking for a car as special as they are, the Fuoriserie program promises to offer them a very bespoke journey of creativity, craftsmanship, and exclusivity.
