The top-spec AX7 and AX7 L trims of the Mahindra XUV700 are more affordable.

The Mahindra XUV700 turbo-petrol and diesel AX7 and AX7 L trims have been offered a price reduction. But the just-released XUV700 Ebony Edition, which is offered in the AX7 and AX7 L trims, is not offered at a price reduction.

Prices of all other XUV700 variants are unchanged, even though Mahindra has stated up to a 3 percent price increase for its entire model line from next month, and prices have been cut.

The XUV700 AX7 diesel automatic 6 and 7 seater variants and the all-wheel drive model of the latter have been cut by Rs 45,000. All the five AX7 L trims except the Ebony Editions enjoy a Rs 75,000 price reduction.

Diesel-Automatic to develop 30 Nm more torque

Mahindra provides a 2.0-litre turbo-diesel engine in these XUV700 trims, which delivers 185hp and 420Nm when mated with the 6-speed manual transmission; torque of the 6-speed torque converter auto is 450Nm.

More information

Just four versions of the 2.0-litre turbo-petrol XUV700 AX7 and AX7 L get the pricing drop. The AX7 auto 6- and 7-seater trims experience price drops by Rs 45,000, and 6 and 7 seater editions of the AX7 L auto are Rs 75,000 lower priced. In contrast to the diesel trims, the turbo-petrol manuals receive no price drops.

Conclusion

Mahindra has lowered the prices of certain XUV700 AX7 and AX7 L models in a strategic manner, which is more appealing to customers. Up to Rs 75,000 of price reduction benefits both turbo-petrol and diesel automatic trim models, excluding the recently launched XUV700 Ebony Edition. Despite an impending 3% price increase in Mahindra's range, these reductions place the high-end XUV700 models within a more reachable bracket. But manual variants are not affected by the price reduction.
