Maruti Swift Vxi Variants Dominate Bookings

Maruti Swift VXI Variants Dominate Bookings

The fourth-generation Maruti Suzuki Swift has made a strong start in the Indian market, continuing the success of its predecessors. Since its launch on May 9, 2024, at a starting price of Rs 6.49 lakh, the new Swift has generated over 40,000 bookings and dispatched 19,393 units to dealers in its first month.

Swift Variants in High Demand

  • VXI and VXI (O) Variants: Account for 60% of total bookings, indicating a preference for mid-spec models.

  • Entry-Level LXI Variant: Contributes 11% of the bookings.

  • Higher-end ZXI and ZXI+ Trims: Make up 19% of the total bookings.

AMT Variants: Modest Demand

  • Overall AMT Demand: Only 17% of new Swift buyers opt for AMT variants.

  • VXI AMT: Contributes 10% of total bookings.

  • ZXI and ZXI+ AMT: Combined share of 7%.

Engine and Performance

  • Powertrain: The new Swift is equipped with a 1.2-litre three-cylinder petrol engine producing 82hp and 112Nm of peak torque.

  • Transmission Options: 5-speed manual (24.8kpl) and 5-speed AMT (25.75kpl).

Future Plans

  • CNG Variant: Maruti Suzuki has confirmed the introduction of a CNG variant in the coming weeks, although a specific timeline has not been provided.

The new Maruti Suzuki Swift has made a notable impact in its initial month, with the VXI and VXI (O) variants being the most popular among buyers. The demand for AMT variants is relatively lower, but the overall reception suggests strong market performance. The upcoming CNG variant is anticipated to further boost sales and provide more options for buyers.
