Maruti Suzuki Invicto

Maruti Suzuki has opened bookings for its upcoming MPV Invicto which is all set to launch on July 5. Interested customers can book the MPV for a token amount of Rs. 25,000 directly at a Nexa dealership or the official website. The Invicto will also be manufactured at Toyota’s Bidadi plant and supplied to Maruti Suzuki, much like the Grand Vitara. It will be available in seven and eight-seating layouts.

The MPV looks to have retained the silhouette of the Toyota Innova Hycross with cosmetic changes of its own on the exterior and the interior as well. The spy shots show that the Maruti Suzuki MPV could have a more prominent grille than the Toyota sister car, it could be split by the dual chrome bar running in between the grille and the Maruti Suzuki logo at the centre.

The grille is likely to be flanked by the headlamp housing (hopefully LED) with horizontally placed DRLs. The front bumper has sizeable air dams and separate fog lamp housing.

The powertrain details are not disclosed yet, but we can expect the same 2.0-litre, four-cylinder petrol engine that does duty for the Toyota Innova Hycross to be under the hood of the upcoming Maruti Suzuki MPV. The engine belts out 171 bhp and the hybrid powertrain produces 180 bhp of peak power. Transmission options are likely to include a CVT or an e-CVT for the MPV.

The interior features could include a 10.25-inch infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a panoramic sunroof, USB fast charging ports, multi-zone climate control, and ventilated and powered front-row seats to name a few.

The Toyota Innova Hycross retails at a starting price of Rs.18.55 lakh for the base variant and goes up to Rs. 30 lakh for the top model. The upcoming Maruti Suzuki MPV is likely to have the same retail bracket and it will be the most expensive Maruti Suzuki car in the fleet.
