Mahindra XUV700 Surpasses 2 Lakh Units and Celebrates with Two New Colors

In a remarkable feat, Mahindra’s flagship SUV, the XUV700, has crossed the significant milestone of producing 2 lakh units in under three years since its launch in August 2021. This rapid achievement is a testament to the SUV’s immense popularity and Mahindra’s manufacturing prowess. To commemorate this milestone, Mahindra is introducing two striking new colour options: Deep Forest and Burnt Sienna, adding a fresh vibrancy to the XUV700 lineup.

A Journey of Success

The Mahindra XUV700’s journey has been nothing short of phenomenal. The SUV reached its first lakh production milestone within just 21 months of its debut, reflecting its strong market acceptance and robust demand. Building on this momentum, Mahindra accelerated its production pace, rolling out the next lakh units in just 12 months. This rapid production highlights not only the SUV’s enduring appeal but also Mahindra's efficient manufacturing capabilities and commitment to meet consumer demand.

Celebrating with New Colors

To celebrate this milestone, Mahindra and Mahindra cars is introducing two new exterior colors to the XUV700 lineup: Deep Forest and Burnt Sienna.

  • Deep Forest: This rich green shade, already popular on other Mahindra SUVs, brings a sense of rugged elegance and adventure to the XUV700, aligning perfectly with its sporty and robust character.

  • Burnt Sienna: Exclusive to the XUV700, this captivating brown hue adds a unique and sophisticated touch, appealing to those who prefer a more distinguished look.

These new colors expand the existing palette, which includes Dazzling Silver, Electric Blue, Everest White, Midnight Black, Red Rage, and Napoli Black, ensuring that there is a shade to match every driver’s style and preference.

Power and Performance

Under the hood, the Mahindra XUV700 offers potent performance options. It comes with two engine choices:

  • 2.0-Liter Turbo-Petrol Engine: This engine delivers a robust 200 horsepower, providing a thrilling driving experience with ample power and responsiveness.

  • 2.2-Liter Diesel Engine: Available in two tunings, this engine can produce up to 185 horsepower. It offers a 6-speed manual transmission option, along with a 6-speed torque converter automatic. The diesel variant also offers the added advantage of an all-wheel-drive configuration, providing superior handling and stability in various driving conditions. The petrol version, on the other hand, remains front-wheel drive.

These engine options ensure that the XUV700 can cater to a wide range of driving preferences, from those seeking sporty performance to those needing robust, off-road capability.

Competitive Pricing and Market Position

Priced competitively from Rs 13.99 lakh to Rs 26.99 lakh (ex-showroom), the Mahindra XUV700 stands out in the crowded mid-size SUV segment. Its extensive list of features, powerful engine options, and appealing design make it a formidable contender against rivals such as:

  • Tata Harrier and Safari: Known for their rugged build and advanced features, these SUVs offer a strong challenge to the XUV700.

  • MG Hector and Hector Plus: These models are recognized for their spacious interiors and technology-rich offerings, competing closely with the XUV700’s tech-savvy appeal.

  • Hyundai Alcazar: With its versatile three-row seating and premium features, the Alcazar is a direct competitor in terms of space and luxury.

  • Jeep Compass: Renowned for its off-road capability and premium feel, the Compass offers a more rugged alternative in the same price bracket.

Future Prospects

Looking ahead, Mahindra is set to expand the XUV700 lineup with a fully electric version, the XUV.e8. Scheduled for launch by the end of this year, the XUV.e8 will bring the SUV’s winning formula to the electric vehicle (EV) market, combining the XUV700’s dynamic design and performance with sustainable and eco-friendly technology. This move underscores Mahindra’s commitment to innovation and sustainability in the evolving automotive landscape.

Conclusion

As the Mahindra XUV700 celebrates its 2 lakh unit production milestone with the introduction of new color options, it continues to reinforce its position as a leader in the mid-size SUV segment. With its blend of powerful performance, modern features, and attractive design, the XUV700 remains a top choice for consumers looking for a versatile and stylish SUV. The upcoming XUV.e8 further highlights Mahindra’s forward-thinking approach, promising an exciting future for the XUV700 family.
