Kia Refreshes Seltos and Sonet Line-up with Exciting New Trims and Features

Kia India has unveiled an extensive refresh of its popular Seltos and Sonet models, introducing five new trims that promise to elevate the driving experience across both SUVs. With a focus on enhancing both style and functionality, the updates include new engine options, advanced safety features, and aesthetic enhancements to meet diverse customer preferences.

Evolution in the Seltos Line-up

Within the range of Seltos Kia has inked the new GTX models that come with petrol and diesel engines with automatic versions. Thereby, the one that can be easily noted is the introduction of the Smartstream G1. 5 TGDi turbo petrol engine – for those, who do not want to sacrifice horsepower, but want fuel economy at the same time. This edition is complemented by a host of advanced features, including:

  • Ventilated Seats: Ensuring comfort during long drives, even in varying weather conditions.

  • ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System): Featuring front cameras and radar for enhanced safety and driving assistance.

  • 360-degree Camera: Facilitating effortless parking and manoeuvring in tight spaces.

  • Solar Glass and White Calipers: Adding a touch of sophistication and aesthetic appeal.

Moreover, Kia has introduced the X-line variant in the striking Aurora Black Pearl colour, featuring an all-black glossy finish that enhances its rugged and premium appearance.

For the Sonet, Kia has expanded its offering by introducing the GTX trims, aimed at enriching the GT Line with superior features and dynamic styling elements. The GTX variants are powered by the Smartstream G1.5 TGDi turbo petrol engine paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission (7DCT) or the diesel 1.5L CRDi VGT engine with a 6-speed automatic transmission (6AT). Key features of the Sonet GTX include:

  • Drive and Traction Control Modes: Enhancing driving dynamics and adaptability to various road conditions.

  • Ventilated Seats and Leatherette Upholstery: Providing luxurious comfort and a premium interior feel.

  • Paddle Shifters: Allowing for a more engaging driving experience, especially on winding roads.

  • 360-degree Camera with SVM: Ensuring comprehensive visibility for confident manoeuvring.

  • Auto Up/Down Safety Window: Adding convenience and safety features to the cabin environment.

Additionally, lower trims of the Sonet now incorporate sought-after features such as ISOFIX child seat mounts, wireless phone chargers, rear wipers with washers, and diamond-cut alloy wheels, making them more appealing across a broader customer base.

Strategic Pricing and Market Positioning

The introduction of these new trims and features is part of Kia's strategy to cater to evolving customer preferences in the competitive Indian SUV market. The pricing reflects the value proposition offered by each variant, ensuring that customers have a wide range of choices that align with their budget and desired specifications:

  • Seltos GTX: Priced at INR 18,99,900 for both the 1.5T GDi with GTX 7DCT and 1.5T CRDi with GTX 6AT variants.

  • Sonet GTX: Available at INR 13,70,900 for the 1.0 TGDi GTX 7DCT and INR 14,55,900 for the 1.5 CRDi GTX 6AT variants.

Customer-Centric Approach

Mr. Myung-sik Sohn, Chief Sales Officer at Kia India, emphasized the company's commitment to constant innovation and customer satisfaction. He highlighted how these updates, including introducing a turbo petrol variant in the Sonet priced under 10 lakhs, aim to meet the diverse needs of Indian consumers without compromising on quality or driving experience.

With these enhancements, Kia India aims to strengthen its position in the SUV segment, offering vehicles that combine style, performance, and advanced technology, ensuring they remain a compelling choice in the competitive Indian automotive landscape.

In conclusion, the refreshed Seltos and Sonet line-up from Kia India promises to set new benchmarks in the SUV segment, catering to a wide spectrum of customers with enhanced features, stylish designs, and competitive pricing.
