Kia Launches Gravity Editions Of Seltos Sonet And Carens Premium Features At Attractive Prices Starting From Rs 10 Lakh 50 Thousand

Kia Launches Gravity Editions of Seltos, Sonet, and Carens: Premium Features at Attractive Prices Starting From Rs 10.50 Lakh

Kia India has launched the highly anticipated Gravity Edition variants of its popular Seltos, Sonet SUVs, and Carens MPV, enhancing its lineup with new premium features and aesthetic upgrades. The Gravity Edition starts at Rs 10.50 lakh for the Sonet, Rs 16.63 lakh for the Seltos, and Rs 12.10 lakh for the Carens (ex-showroom). These new editions build upon the respective mid-spec variants of each model, offering more style, convenience, and safety features while maintaining the performance customers expect from Kia.

Kia Seltos Gravity Edition

The Kia Seltos has been one of the top-selling SUVs in India, and with the launch of the Gravity Edition, Kia is taking it a step further by adding several luxurious features. The Seltos Gravity Edition is priced between Rs 16.63 lakh and Rs 18.21 lakh, offering the choice between a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine and a 1.5-litre diesel engine.

The petrol engine delivers 115 PS and 144 Nm of torque, available with either a 6-speed manual or a CVT transmission. On the other hand, the diesel variant produces 116 PS and 250 Nm of torque, paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox. The Gravity Edition is available in Glacial White Pearl and Aurora Black Pearl, adding to its exclusivity.

Key upgrades include a dashcam, ventilated front seats, a premium Bose sound system, electronic parking brake (CVT variant), and 17-inch redesigned alloy wheels. The aesthetic enhancements include a gloss-black rear spoiler, body-colored door handles, and the signature Gravity badging. Notably, the Seltos Gravity Edition retains key features from the HTX trim, such as the panoramic sunroof, 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, dual-zone automatic climate control, and safety features like six airbags, TPMS, a rearview camera, and front parking sensors.

Kia Sonet Gravity Edition

Kia has also introduced the Gravity Edition of its subcompact SUV, the Sonet, which starts at an affordable price of Rs 10.50 lakh, going up to Rs 12 lakh for the top variant. The Sonet Gravity Edition is based on the HTK Plus trim and comes with three engine options: a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine (83 PS/115 Nm), a 1-litre turbo-petrol engine (120 PS/172 Nm), and a 1.5-litre diesel engine (115 PS/250 Nm). Transmission choices include a 5-speed manual for the 1.2-litre petrol variant, a 6-speed iMT for the turbo-petrol variant, and a 6-speed manual for the diesel option.

Available in Pearl White, Aurora Black Pearl, and Matte Graphite color options, the Sonet Gravity Edition gets significant upgrades like Indigo Pera seats with navy stitching, a leather-wrapped gear lever, a wireless phone charger, rear adjustable headrests, and a rear center armrest with cupholders. The model also features 16-inch alloy wheels and a rear spoiler for a sportier look, along with the Gravity badging to distinguish it from other variants.

Like the Seltos, the Sonet Gravity Edition retains several features from the HTK Plus trim, including an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with six speakers, push-button start/stop, electrically folding ORVMs, and automatic climate control. Safety features include six airbags, a rearview camera, rear parking sensors, TPMS, and a rear defogger, making the Sonet Gravity Edition a well-rounded choice for compact SUV buyers.

Kia Carens Gravity Edition

The Kia Carens MPV also joins the Gravity Edition lineup with prices starting from Rs 12.10 lakh and going up to Rs 14 lakh. This edition is based on the Premium (O) variant and is offered with three engine options: a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine (115 PS/144 Nm) paired with a 6-speed manual, a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine (160 PS/253 Nm) with a 6-speed iMT, and a 1.5-litre diesel engine (116 PS/250 Nm) with a 6-speed manual.

The Carens Gravity Edition comes in exclusive color options and includes features such as a dashcam, a single-pane sunroof, black leatherette seat upholstery, a leather-wrapped flat-bottom steering wheel, soft-touch door materials, and LED cabin lighting. It also carries forward several features from the Premium (O) variant, such as an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, semi-digital driver’s display, six speakers, and electrically adjustable and foldable ORVMs. In terms of safety, the Gravity Edition offers four airbags and a rear parking camera.

Competitive Landscape

With the launch of the Gravity Edition variants, Kia's Seltos, Sonet, and Carens take on some well-established rivals in their respective segments. The Kia Sonet competes with the likes of the Mahindra XUV300, Tata Nexon, and Maruti Brezza, all popular choices in the subcompact SUV market. The Seltos Gravity Edition is positioned against the Hyundai Creta and Toyota Hyryder in the compact SUV segment, while the Carens MPV rivals models like the Maruti Ertiga, Toyota Innova Crysta, and Hycross.

Conclusion

Kia's new Gravity Edition models of the Seltos, Sonet, and Carens demonstrate the brand’s commitment to providing feature-rich vehicles at competitive prices. The premium upgrades in design, comfort, and technology make these editions stand out in their respective segments, catering to buyers looking for both performance and style. With starting prices of Rs 10.50 lakh for the Sonet, Rs 16.63 lakh for the Seltos, and Rs 12.10 lakh for the Carens, Kia has positioned the Gravity Editions as attractive options for customers seeking more features and exclusivity without breaking the bank.
