Interest Raised by the Maruti eVitara Price Leak Before the Official EV Launch

Following an unexpected price leak that surfaced through Nexa and approved dealer listings, indicating what appears to be the ex-showroom pricing for the top-spec Alpha variant, the impending Maruti eVitara has created a lot of interest. Customers are curious to know how the eVitara will compare with more established competitors as Maruti Suzuki gets ready to make its first foray into the Indian electric SUV market. Now that production has started, everyone is waiting for the brand's formal announcement.

  • The top trim - eVitara Alpha, according to the leaked listing, may cost ₹24.79 lakh ex-showroom.

  • Before an official release, Nexa and authorized dealer websites prematurely displayed this pricing knowledge.

Unexpectedly, the pricing of the highly anticipated Maruti Suzuki eVitara electric SUV appears to have leaked online via Nexa and authorized dealer platforms before its formal launch.

Multiple postings displayed the Alpha variant's ex-showroom tag at Rs. 24.79 lakh, indicating that this may be the price of the top-end 61 kWh battery model, even though the manufacturer has not yet verified official pricing.

For a brief period, this figure was available to visitors to several Nexa-affiliated websites, which led some dealers to take reservations at that rate. With many potential customers and industry observers eagerly anticipating Maruti's official announcement, this generated a great deal of curiosity and conjecture.

What We Currently Understand About the eVitara

An important first for Maruti Suzuki, the eVitara is the company's first entry into the Indian market for electric SUVs. The electric SUV is equipped with contemporary technologies, including two huge touchscreens, Level 2 ADAS, ventilated seats, and a 360-degree camera. It was built on the specialized HEARTECT-e platform.

In Bharat NCAP crash tests, it also received a 5-star safety rating, making it one of the safest EV models available.

There will be three different versions of the SUV-Delta, Zeta, and Alpha, and two battery options: a 49 kWh pack and a larger 61 kWh pack that, under the right circumstances, may provide more than 500 km of range on a single charge.

Pricing Expectations vs. Reality

The pricing of the eVitara may be competitive with competing EVs from other manufacturers, according to industry estimates and dealer conversations prior to the leak. Numerous sources conjectured a wider pricing range, with entry-level models perhaps starting lower and premium trims rising.

There have been conflicting responses to the top model's ₹24.79 lakh price. Some believe it is fair considering the technology and safety ratings available, while others think it might be more expensive than other electric SUVs in the same class.

Maruti may change the numbers before the retail sale, so it's unclear if this reported price will hold up when the firm makes a formal announcement.

What Happens Next

To date, Maruti Suzuki has not officially addressed whether the pricing glimpse was a deliberate or unintentional backend listing. The official launch and finalized pricing announcement are anticipated in the upcoming weeks, with both local and export production currently underway.

The ultimate pricing plan for the eVitara may have an impact on consumer mood in a market where electric SUVs are competing for consumers' attention as EV demand in India increases.
