Hyundai has finally revealed the global facelift for the Ioniq 5. For the first time since its 2021 launch, the car has been given a facelift. It now has a larger battery pack, a few minor changes to its exterior, and a new N Line variant with a sportier look than the standard model. Hyundai has announced that the model will go on sale in Korean markets in March and that it will be released later this year in other international markets, including India.
Hyundai Ioniq 5 facelift: Design
When it comes to the exterior The new Ioniq 5 has received only a few upgrades which include redesigned alloy wheels, front and rear bumpers, and a new spoiler, As compared to the previous model, the new N Line variant features a 20-inch aluminum wheels, side skirts, and bumpers tailored specifically for the model.
Hyundai Ioniq 5 facelift: Powertrain
The Ioniq 5 facelift will feature three versions ie. Standard, N Line, and N Performance and will only be available depending on the market. The bigger 84 kWh battery pack found on the discontinued Ioniq 5 N model is a feature of the Ioniq 5 facelift model. Hyundai has not yet verified the 2024 EV's increased range or performance numbers, though.
Hyundai Ioniq 5 facelift: Interior
We can see that Some small changes are also made to the interior, including a new steering wheel and a redesigned center console with physical buttons for features like heated and ventilated first-row seats, a heated steering wheel, and parking assistance. The infotainment system in the car has been updated. The N Line version will feature a black headliner, metal pedals, sports seats, and an N Line steering wheel, among other elements that give it a sportier interior.
Hyundai Ioniq 5 facelift: Safety Features and Launch
Hyundai states that in addition to strengthening the body, front and rear doors, and B-pillar section of the car to improve safety, they have also upgraded the dampers to lessen vibrations. There are eight airbags in the car, including side airbags for the second row. The brand has also improved overall quietness by adding sound insulation to the rear wheel motor.
The Hyundai Ioniq 5 was introduced in January of last year and is priced at Rs 45.95 lakh (ex-showroom, India). Even though the Korean company hasn't said for sure whether the facelift will come to India, it probably will at some point. In addition, Hyundai revealed the sleek Ioniq 6 at the Auto Expo 2023 and plans to launch the Creta EV early the following year.
