Hyundai Inster Cross Electric Suv Debuts 360 Kms Range 38m Length Adas

Hyundai Inster Cross Electric SUV Debuts – 360 Kms Range, 3.8m Length, ADAS

Hyundai has unveiled the adventure-focused Inster Cross, a rugged variant of the previously introduced Inster electric SUV, at the Busan International Mobility Show. While the new model retains its predecessor’s mechanical features, the Inster Cross gains enhanced off-road capabilities and updated interiors, targeting buyers with a love for adventure. Production for the Inster Cross is set to commence in 2025 at Hyundai’s manufacturing facility in Korea.

Tougher Stance and Off-Road Focused Design

Though built on the same platform as the standard Inster, the Inster Cross presents a much more rugged appearance. Its exterior design includes off-road-focused elements like blackened cladding, revised front and rear bumpers, side skirts, roof racks, and 17-inch alloy wheels. With a compact length of 3,825mm, width of 1,610mm, and height of 1,575mm, the Inster Cross maintains a smaller, more adventure-oriented stance compared to other SUVs.

Color Options and Exclusive Amazonas Green Matte

The Inster Cross comes with several bold color options, including Atlas White, Unbleached Ivory, Aero Silver Matte, Abyss Black Pearl, and Tomboy Khaki. Additionally, an exclusive Amazonas Green Matte color option sets the Cross variant apart from its standard counterpart. Many of these colors can also be combined with a two-tone black roof for added flair.

Interior Features and Seating Configurations

Inside, the Inster Cross embraces a minimalist yet functional design with a grey and lime-yellow color scheme running through the seats and dashboard. The SUV features dual 10.25-inch screens for infotainment and driver display, along with a multifunction steering wheel. Its front seats adopt a bench-style layout, while the second-row seats offer flexibility with a 50:50 split and recline function. For added comfort and utility, these seats can be slid forward or backward individually, maximizing interior space.

The SUV’s boot capacity ranges from 280 to 351 liters, depending on seat configuration, ensuring ample storage for adventure gear.

Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS)

In terms of safety, the Inster Cross doesn’t compromise. It comes equipped with an extensive ADAS package that includes Highway Driving Assist 1.5, Smart Cruise Control, Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist 1, Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Centering with Navigation Data, and an Autonomous Emergency Braking System, ensuring a safer driving experience for both on-road and off-road adventures.

Powertrains and Range

Similar to the standard Inster, the Inster Cross will be offered with two electric powertrain options: a standard version with 95 hp and a 42 kWh battery, and a more powerful version with 113 hp and a 49 kWh battery. The higher-range variant offers an impressive 360 kms of all-electric range (WLTP). Both versions support 120 kWh DC fast charging, allowing a 10%-80% recharge in just 30 minutes, making long-distance trips easier and more convenient.

Availability and Pricing

Hyundai plans to roll out the Inster Cross across Europe, the Middle East, and the Asia-Pacific region. While pricing details have not yet been announced, they are expected to be revealed closer to the official launch in 2025. In India, Hyundai is preparing to expand its electric SUV lineup, including an Inster-based EV along with electric versions of the Creta, Venue, and Grand i10, promising an exciting future for the electric vehicle market.
