Hyundai India Sales February 2026, Record 66,134 Units

February is typically the quietest month in the automobile calendar; it is the shortest, after all. But Hyundai India's February 2026 sales report tells a very different story. The company recorded 66,134 units in total sales, its highest ever for the month, with domestic volumes and exports both growing strongly year-on-year. Here is a clear breakdown of the numbers, what they mean, and why Hyundai's February 2026 performance matters for India's car market.

  • Hyundai India sales in February 2026 reached 66,134 units, the highest ever recorded for the month, marking a 12.6% jump year-on-year.

  • Hyundai India's export figures rose nearly 25% year-on-year to 13,727 units, underlining India's growing role as a global Hyundai production hub.

Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) has just posted its best-ever February sales figures, selling a combined total of 66,134 units in February 2026. That is a 12.6% rise compared to the 58,727 units it sold in February 2025, over 7,400 additional cars in a single year. It is a strong result in a competitive market, and it sets the tone for what looks like a positive 2026 for the Korean carmaker in India.

Hyundai India Domestic Sales February 2026, Best February Since Launch

52,407 Units Sold Within India

Of the 66,134 total units, 52,407 were sold domestically across India. That is a 9.8% year-on-year increase from 47,727 units in February 2025, and the highest domestic sales figure Hyundai India has recorded for any February since the brand launched in the country.

Month-on-month, domestic sales did dip from the 59,107 units sold in January 2026 , a drop of around 11.3%. That said, January-to-February softness is a well-known seasonal pattern in the Indian car market, and the year-on-year comparison is what gives a truer picture of how the brand is actually performing. On that front, Hyundai India is clearly trending in the right direction.

Hyundai India Export Sales February 2026 , Up Nearly 25% Year-on-Year

13,727 Units Shipped to International Markets

Hyundai India's export figures for February 2026 came in at 13,727 units, up 24.8% from the 11,000 units exported in February 2025. That is a significant rise, and it reinforces India's importance as a manufacturing and export base for Hyundai globally.

With more Made-in-India Hyundais heading to overseas markets, this is a trend worth watching as the year progresses.

What Hyundai India's CEO Said About February 2026 Sales

Tarun Garg, MD and CEO of HMIL, pointed out that January 2026 had already been a record month for the company and that February had carried that momentum forward. He highlighted the company's upcoming 30th anniversary in India and reaffirmed its focus on bringing connected car technology to a wider range of buyers, not just those at the top of the price ladder. It is an ambition that aligns well with where the Indian car market is heading.

Why Hyundai India's February 2026 Sales Numbers Matter

What This Means for India's Passenger Vehicle Market

Hyundai is consistently one of India's top-selling passenger vehicle brands, and February 2026's record performance reinforces that position. Growing domestic demand, paired with a surge in export volumes, points to a brand that is firing on multiple fronts.

For anyone tracking India's auto sector in 2026, Hyundai's month-by-month numbers are a reliable indicator of broader market health.

Export Sales11,000 units13,727 units24.8%
Total Sales58,727 units66,134 units12.6%

Two months into 2026, and Hyundai India has already broken records twice in a row. That is not a fluke, it is a brand that knows its market well, keeps its popular models like the Creta front and centre, and is quietly building a serious export operation on the side. With its 30th anniversary in India on the horizon, the company clearly has something to prove, and so far, it is delivering. If the rest of 2026 follows the same pattern, it is shaping up to be a landmark year for Hyundai India.
