Hyundai Exter Vs Tata Tiago The Ultimate Showdown

Hyundai Exter vs. Tata Tiago: The Ultimate Showdown

What differentiates a family car from another? Whenever we buy a family car, our priorities are already sorted. What defines the purchase is comfort and affordability. Additionally, when buying a family car the most reliable option is Tata. However, Hyundai is also pretty good in the game of family cars. This blog will compare and contrast the Hyundai Exter and Tata Tiago, two popular family-friendly cars, based on their key features, technical specifications, and, most importantly, price range so that you get to choose which car perfectly defines your taste.

Comfort & Features

With the Exter, Hyundai has raised the stakes by adding modern features that are usually reserved for more expensive cars. The Exter features a dashcam, wireless charging, climate-controlled air conditioning, rear air vents, automated headlights, a sunroof, and support for Alexa. The Tata Tiago, on the other hand, has a digital instrument cluster, an 8-speaker audio system, automatic climate control, a cooled glovebox, and a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment display. Both vehicles satisfy distinct tastes; the Exter prioritizes innovation, while the Tiago offers a wealth of features at a reasonably priced price.

Transmission & Engine

In terms of comparison, the Hyundai Exter and Tata Tiago share a 1.2-liter gasoline engine and may be equipped with an AMT or 5-speed manual transmission for greater convenience. Moreover, a CNG version is available for both models, providing drivers with additional fuel choices. The petrol engine of the Tata Tiago generates 85PS/113Nm (petrol) and 73PS/93Nm (CNG), while the Hyundai Exter's petrol engine generates 82PS/113Nm (petrol) and 69PS/95Nm on CNG. It's difficult to choose a clear victor in this category because both cars have excellent fuel efficiency, even with the CNG variants having lower numbers.

Safety Features

The many safety features of the Exter and Tiago demonstrate Hyundai and Tata's commitment to customer safety. Airbags, ABS with EBD, ESC, and other features are standard on both versions. The Global NCAP crash test gave the Tiago an outstanding four stars. With six airbags—including curtain airbags—automated headlamps, vehicle stability control, and ISOFIX compatibility, the Exter surpasses expectations in its class.

Efficiency and Performance

A 1.2-liter gasoline engine with 83–85 horsepower powers both the Hyundai Exter and the Tata Tiago, making them good cars for city driving. Both manual and automatic 5-speed transmissions are matched with these engines. Both versions provide similar mileage estimates, ranging from 19 to 26 km/l, in terms of fuel efficiency. For owners on a budget, the factory-fitted CNG option on the Exter, with a claimed mileage of 27.1 km/l, makes it stand out. Both vehicles offer a smooth and effective driving experience, while the Tiago's hatchback form may allow it to handle a little bit quicker.

Comparing Prices

The Tata Tiago is the more affordable choice when it comes to price, with costs ranging from ₹5.76 L to ₹9.63 L. Conversely, the cost of the Hyundai Exter ranges from ₹7.00 L to ₹11.28 L. With its abundance of equipment and SUV-like proportions, the Exter more than makes up for its marginally higher price. The Tiago is a cost-effective option for individuals on a limited budget, but the Exter offers a more upscale experience with more features and room for the money.

Overall, Different demands and tastes are catered to by the Tata Tiago and the Hyundai Exter. With its SUV-like proportions and wealth of features, the Exter is a great choice for anyone looking for a roomy and cutting-edge car. However, the Tiago sticks out as an affordable option that is loaded with useful amenities, making it a sensible pick for daily driving. The Tiago offers cost without sacrificing functionality, while the Exter offers a premium experience. In the end, the decision between the two comes down to personal preferences.
