First Look At Tata Curvv Diesel Comfort Space And Premium Features

First Look at Tata Curvv Diesel: Comfort, Space, and Premium Features

Tata Motors has been making waves in the Indian automotive industry with its range of stylish and feature-packed vehicles. One of the latest additions to its lineup is the Tata Curvv, a model that promises to offer a blend of style, comfort, and practicality. Recently, BHPian satish.gawai visited the Tata Garve showroom in Tathawade, Pune, to get a firsthand experience of the Tata Curvv diesel variant. Here’s a detailed take on the observations from the visit.

Handsome Design with Premium Interior

The Tata Curvv looks even better in person than in pictures. Its bold and futuristic design grabs attention immediately, making it stand out in a crowded marketplace. The exterior carries some design elements from the popular Tata Nexon, but the Curvv brings a more premium and refined feel overall. The fit and finish inside the cabin are impressive, with a level of attention to detail that surpasses expectations. Tata Motors has clearly taken steps to elevate the interior aesthetics and quality, delivering a more luxurious experience.

One of the highlights of the Curvv's interior is the use of premium materials and finishes. The seats are well-bolstered, providing ample support and comfort for passengers. Even those with a heavier build will find the seats accommodating. The front driver's seat comes with power adjustments, adding an extra layer of convenience, although it would have been nice to see the same feature extended to the passenger seat.

Infotainment and Ergonomics

The infotainment system in the Tata Curvv is another area where the car shines. The larger screen integrates seamlessly with the dashboard design, giving the cabin a modern and tech-savvy feel. The gear lever also feels premium to the touch, complementing the overall aesthetic of the cabin.

Ergonomically, the Curvv does quite well. The four-spoke steering wheel feels nice to hold and can be adjusted for height, though it lacks reach adjustment. The buttons on the steering wheel are aligned well, unlike some issues seen in previous Tata models like the Harrier.

Space and Comfort

When it comes to space, the Tata Curvv provides a mixed experience. For someone around 5'8" tall, the rear seating offers decent space and comfort, with adequate legroom and a comfortable seating position. However, taller passengers, particularly those around 6 feet, might find the rear headroom a bit restrictive due to the coupe-like design of the car. This is a trade-off that comes with the sporty and sleek roofline, which limits headroom in the rear.

The rear seats do come with some thoughtful features, including rear AC vents and both USB and Type C charging ports. The center armrest is at a comfortable height, and there’s a switch to adjust the two-stage recline for the rear seats, making long drives more comfortable.

Practicality and Usability

Storage space in the Tata Curvv is well thought out, with ample storage under the armrest and other convenient spaces throughout the cabin. However, not all elements are perfect. For instance, the use of glossy plastic on the exterior may look stylish but could be challenging to maintain in the long run, especially in Indian driving conditions where dust and grime are constant companions.

Another point of contention is the heavy reliance on touch controls for various functions inside the car. While this adds to the modern appeal, some users might prefer the tactile feel of physical buttons for ease of use and reliability, especially while driving.

Conclusion

The Tata Curvv diesel variant offers an intriguing package with its handsome design, premium interior, and practical features. While it may not be perfect—especially for taller passengers—the overall package is impressive for those looking for a stylish and feature-rich car. Tata Motors has once again shown that it can deliver vehicles that not only look good but also provide comfort and practicality for Indian consumers.
