Tata Curvv Ice Variant A Closer Look At The Striking Suv In Showroom

Tata Curvv ICE Variant: A Closer Look at the Striking SUV in Showroom

Tata Motors is making waves with the new ICE (Internal Combustion Engine) variant of the Tata Curvv, a highly anticipated SUV that adds a diesel engine to the brand's expanding portfolio. BHPian 250Nm recently visited a showroom to get a firsthand look at this striking model and shared insights with other enthusiasts. The visit revealed key differences between the ICE and EV variants, particularly in seating comfort and design choices.

Improved Comfort and Seating Posture

One of the most noticeable changes in the ICE variant of the Tata Curvv is the improvement in under-thigh support and overall seating posture. Thanks to a lower floor than the EV model, the ICE Curvv provides a more comfortable driving experience. This is a welcome change for customers who prioritize comfort during long drives. While headroom remains consistent between both variants, the enhanced seating posture in the ICE variant adds to its appeal for those looking for a more ergonomic experience.

Interior Design Choices and Features

Despite its improved comfort, the Tata Curvv ICE variant has drawn mixed reactions regarding its interior design. The seats and color scheme may not appeal to everyone, with some feeling that Tata Motors could have offered more customization options. Additionally, the gear shifter design has been a point of contention among enthusiasts, with many wishing for a more refined or alternative design to suit various tastes.

Exterior Details

While the Tata Curvv’s red exterior has garnered attention for its bold and eye-catching design, one notable difference between the ICE and EV variants is the lack of black treatment for the badging on the ICE model. In the EV variant, the black treatment enhances the vehicle's sleek and modern look, a detail that is absent in the ICE version. However, even without this feature, the Tata Curvv remains a visually striking vehicle, particularly in the vibrant red color showcased in the showroom.

Engine and Performance

The ICE variant of the Tata Curvv houses a 4-cylinder diesel engine, a key selling point for many potential buyers. Interestingly, this engine does not require a Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF), simplifying maintenance and reducing running costs. However, one area where the ICE Curvv could see improvement is engine protection. As observed by enthusiasts, the vehicle lacks engine protection, an essential feature for rugged and off-road conditions.

Additionally, despite having enough room for one, the absence of a dead pedal is another minor drawback that could affect driving comfort, especially during long-distance journeys.

Conclusion

The Tata Curvv ICE variant presents an appealing package for those looking for a stylish and comfortable SUV with diesel power. Its striking design, enhanced seating posture, and diesel engine offer plenty of reasons to attract buyers. However, some areas, such as the interior design choices, lack of engine protection, and absence of a dead pedal, leave room for improvement. Overall, the Tata Curvv ICE variant stands out as a solid contender in the SUV market, offering a unique combination of style, comfort, and diesel performance.
