Citroen Basalt Will Go On Sale In The Second Half Of 2024

Citroen Basalt will go on sale in the second half of 2024

Citroen has globally revealed the Basalt Vision coupe-SUV, which is marking the fourth model under the C-Cubed program. It is expected to hit Indian markets in mid-2024. This upcoming vehicle blends SUV aesthetics with sedan-like dimensions. The Basalt, which was previously a concept, will go into production very similar to the showcased model.

Departing from the conventional alpha-numeric C3 nomenclature, the Basalt will be manufactured in India and exported to South American regions.

Exterior

With a design resembling the C3 Aircross, the Basalt showcases projector headlamps, refined exterior styling, and contemporary features. The stylish alloy wheels, pull-type door handles, and sophisticated LED tail lamps enhance its sleek appeal.

This coupe-SUV straddles the midsize segment, which measures around 4.3 meters in length. The Basalt boasts coupe-like rooflines and SUV-inspired aesthetics. This trend aligns with upcoming models like the Tata Curvv. Specifics about the interior remain undisclosed. But we anticipate a carryover of the dash from the C3 Aircross with added features like automatic climate control, keyless entry, wireless charging, and more.

Engine

Under the hood, the Basalt will house a robust 110hp, 1.2-liter turbo-petrol engine paired with manual or torque converter automatic transmission options. An electric variant is slated to join the lineup after the petrol version's launch. Citroen plans to unveil more details about the Basalt in mid-2024. The electric version is expected to debut by early 2025. According to company sources, these decisions are geared towards steering toward a cleaner, future-oriented automotive landscape. Hence, addressing the evolving needs and preferences of the modern consumer market.
