7 Extra Features Tata Altroz Racer May Have Over The Regular Altroz

7 extra features Tata Altroz Racer may have over The Regular Altroz

The Tata Altroz Racer is set to launch in June, featuring a sportier design and a more powerful 120 PS, 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine from the Tata Nexon. This upgrade positions the Altroz Racer as a direct competitor to the Hyundai i20 N Line in India. Alongside the engine upgrade, the Altroz Racer will introduce several new amenities not found in the regular Altroz variants.

One major enhancement is the infotainment system, which will feature a larger 10.25-inch touchscreen borrowed from the Tata Punch EV and Tata Nexon. This system supports wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, compared to the 7-inch touchscreen in regular Altroz variants that only offer wired connectivity for these features.

The driver's display in the Altroz Racer will also be upgraded to a fully digital 7-inch screen, replacing the semi-digital instrument cluster in the current Altroz. Additionally, the Altroz Racer will include a heads-up display, projecting essential information like speed, RPM, and fuel economy onto a small glass piece positioned above the instrument cluster, reducing the need for the driver to look away from the road. This feature is currently only available in the Maruti Baleno and Toyota Glanza in the premium hatchback segment.

Wireless phone charging is another feature expected in the Altroz Racer, eliminating the need for cables and keeping the center console clutter-free. The Racer version may also include ventilated front seats, which would make it the first premium hatchback in India to offer this feature, particularly useful in extreme summer conditions.

The Altroz Racer will also feature a 360-degree camera, a useful addition for parking in tight spaces and navigating heavy city traffic. This feature has been spotted during testing of the Altroz Racer. Furthermore, the Racer version will significantly enhance safety by including six airbags, whereas the regular Altroz only offers dual front airbags in its top-spec variant.

The Tata Altroz Racer is expected to be priced starting at Rs 10 lakh (ex-showroom) and will compete directly with the Hyundai i20 N Line.
