2026 Skoda Kushaq facelift spied on Mumbai-Pune expressway

The Kushaq is a common compact SUV of Skoda, which is on the verge of a mid-cycle upgrade before its projected 2026 launch in India. Most recently seen on test drives around the Mumbai-Pune Expressway, the new SUV should yield cosmetic changes, feature additions on the exterior, along with an enhanced interior to compete against the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, and the Maruti Grand Vitara.

Not much was visible on the spy test mule of the Kushaq facelift, although certain changes in its design were evident. Upfront, the SUV has preserved its split-style headlights, but this time they have dynamic LED turn indicators as opposed to the present halogen ones. The design of the bumper is still under wraps, and it is possible that the bumper is going to be redesigned.

The profile resembles the current model, but the side profile has 17-inch black alloy wheels of the Sportline trim, and also silver roof rails and chrome-coated door handles.

The wraparound LED tail lamps at the back have the dynamic swiping indicators, which will give a light touch in modernity, though the redesigned bumper was covered in camouflage.

Planned Interior and Feature Add-ons

Although the interiors could not be seen during this sighting, it has been reported that Skoda will make heavy changes in the interior layout, which will include a revised dashboard and new designed seats.

The SUV should be able to retain characteristics like a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment, 8-inch digital driver meters, ventilated seats, wireless smartphone connection, and 8-speaker audio.

Markedly, the facelift could also incorporate a sky roof, which is presently absent in the Kushaq but is available on its competitors. Safe-tech should be enhanced by the introduction of a 360-degree camera system and Level-2 ADAS package, stocking up 6-airbags, ISOFIX, TPMS and hill-hold assist.

The Powertrain Options

In the 2026 Kushaq facelift, it is also possible that the available petrol-only engines will be continued:

  • 1.0L turbo-petrol: 115PS, 178 Nm (MT/AT)

  • 1.5L turbo-petrol: 150 PS 250 Nm (MT/DCT)

Fuel efficiency will probably be the same as on the current version, 19.7 kmpl ( MT) and 18.8 kmpl.

The Anticipated Cost and Competitors

With the facelift, the Kushaq will not be offered with any key mechanical updates, and thus will attract a minor price increment, priced currently between Rs 10.99 lakh and Rs 19.09 lakh (ex-showroom).

Upon its launch in 2026, it will still have to compete with powerful competitors such as the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Grand Vitara, Toyota Hyryder, Tata Curvv, and Volkswagen Taigun.
