VinFast VF 7 and VF 9 to Make India Debut at Auto Expo 2025

VinFast VF 7 and VF 9 to Make India Debut at Auto Expo 2025.The electric SUVs are set to showcase cutting-edge technology, modern design, and sustainable performance, marking the brand’s entry into the growing Indian EV market.

VinFast may be a Vietnamese Electric Vehicle (EV) manufacturer participating in India's forthcoming Auto Expo 2025, unveiling its completed lineup of electric vehicles. VF 7 and VF 9 will be star attractions, as their fully electric SUVs aim to align with the growing trend in the Indian EV market. The cars VF 3 and Wild and a pickup concept will also be displayed at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025.

Here is an outline of things to expect from the two flagship electric SUVs:

VinFast VF 7: A High-Performance Sleek E-SUV

The VinFast VF 7, in its feathered bonnet, was expected to break into India's compact luxury segment and make the Tata Harrier a rugged contender. As per its visual portrayal, the VF 7 has much of the Hyundai Tucson. Compact, sleek, with a mini grandeur of Cross over, it would not be missing in the portfolio of the automotive modern age. Even with open doors, you don't need a flashlight to whiz past the trench. It still has that new-age mien that tells you, "See Beemer? Have boot space."

The VF 7 is readily available in two variants in global markets- the Eco and the Plus. The two had an extraordinary 75.3kWh battery pack, providing a top-notch range and driving prowess.

At the same time, the Eco came equipped with only one frontal motor, generating 204hp, along with torque. On the other hand, the Plus had two pastors that had a furnished output of 354hp and 500Nm of torque. This gives the Plunger a more excellent driving dynamic.

VF 7 Eco is suitable for a WLTP 450km, so it is 19 km beyond the Plus variant for the fully charged battery to reach its 431 km range. The essential distinctions between these two trims could be a difference in wheel size because Eco has alloy wheels of 19 inches, but the Plus version provides options for 20" and 21" wheels.

Moreover, Eco has a 12.9-inch display for infotainment touch, though the Plus is 15 inches. Level 2 ADASs are standard in both trims, ensuring road safety and comfort.

VinFast VF 9: A Larger, Luxurious E-SUV

VinFast VF 9 is the largest electric SUV VinFast offers, which means a spacier interior for those who want luxury features but at the same time look for a lifestyle vehicle. In other words, a three-row larger SUV than the Audi Q7 is meant for families or where spacious interior requirements shine.

The VF 9 comes in Eco versions with the same sizable 123kWh battery pack. The VF 9 is a dual-motor setup in all-wheel drive and gives a combined power of 406 horsepower and 620 Nm torque. VinFast claims their Eco version would do 0-100kph in 6.6 seconds, while the Plus version takes 6.7 seconds.

Thus, range-wise, the VF 9 claims a relatively high WLTP figure of 531 km per charge, which is more appealing for long-distance trips. The Kargu-wei (curb weight) of 2,959-2,968 kg, depending on whether the vehicle is specified for 6- or 7-car designs, also varies across both variants. Eco weighs 2,911 kg and comes in a 7-seat configuration.

In addition to all the mentioned, special features include comfortable powered seats in the front's first two rows, heated and ventilated, and a massage function. The things it misses can be counted on the fingers of one hand: a 13-speaker audio system, a subwoofer, an 8-inch rear infotainment screen, a panorama sunroof, and auto-dimming exterior mirrors. In addition to roof rails, it has pretty sizable 21-inch alloy wheels, contributing to its road presence.

VinFast Now Ready for Indian Business Expansion

VinFast has started setting up a factory in Tamil Nadu, which will likely become the base from which India will witness the company's essential expansion program. The plant will be designed to assemble EVs in India, and Zac Hollis, the former head of Skoda India, will be named its Asia chief.

The VF 7 and 9 might be coming to India, but sensitization and a detailed scenario will take some time. The vague details regarding the two will likely be made clear, and this will also likely give us a glimpse into the company's long-term plans concerning India as it spurs discussions. VinFast's initiation in India's fast-growing electric vehicle market might be a massive step towards green mobility.
