Very soon to open, bookings for the Lexus 500d: Check the engine, features, etc.

Bookings for the Lexus LX 500d are reopening soon, featuring a 304-horsepower 3.3-liter V6 diesel engine, advanced safety features like ADAS, a luxurious dual-tone interior with a 12.3-inch infotainment system, and off-road capabilities with multi-terrain modes.

The bookings for the Lexus LX 500d were put on hold. In a recent press release by the luxury carmaker, “the wait will be over soon, as we will be opening the LX 500d bookings in India shortly.” Bookings in 2022 for the Lexus 500d were made available for a starting price of ₹2.82 crore in India.

Powering the Lexus LX 500d is a 3.3-litre twin-turbocharged V6 diesel engine. The engine works with a 10-speed automatic transmission to develop 304 bhp of maximum power and 700 Nm of peak torque. With a top speed of 210 kmph, acceleration from zero to 100 kmph is achieved within a claimed eight seconds.

The SUV also boasts multi-terrain modes, such as Dirt, Sand, Mud, Deep Snow, Rock, and Auto mode, which is the first to be offered in a Lexus. The vehicle comes in multiple other drive modes, including Normal, Eco, Comfort, Sport, Sport S, Sport S+, and Custom.

Concerning design, the flagship SUV gets the signature spindle grille upfront while the side profile is dominated by the massive 22 inch alloy wheels. The LX 500d measures at 5,100 mm in length and sports a wheelbase of 2,850 mm.

The Lexus LX 500d: Cabin and Features

The interior of the Lexus LX 500d is dual-tone, featuring 64-colour ambient lighting, electronic adjustment of seats in both the rows, and much more.

At the same time, a 12.3-inch digital infotainment touchscreen display comes with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto functions. Below the infotainment screen is another display, a 7-inch one featuring climate control options.

The SUV features a multifunction steering wheel utilizing the new Electronic Power Steering system, a wireless phone charging system, a 360-degree camera, and a panoramic sunroof, among other things.

On safety, the new LX 500 features electronically controlled brakes (ECB), adaptive variable suspension, active height control suspension, fingerprint authentication, rear cross traffic alert, and clearance sonar to detect objects in its path, among others.
