Toyota Urban Cruiser Ev Unveiled A Stylish Feature Packed Maruti E Vitara Twin

Toyota Urban Cruiser EV Unveiled: A Stylish, Feature-Packed Maruti e Vitara Twin

Toyota Urban Cruiser EV: A New Era for Compact SUVs

The Toyota Urban Cruiser EV, which is closely connected to the newly launched Suzuki e Vitara, is the company's first born-electric small SUV. This marks Toyota’s bold entry into the competitive electric SUV segment with a model that blends futuristic design, advanced technology, and practicality.

Refined Design and Compact Dimensions

The Urban Cruiser EV maintains much of the styling seen in the earlier concept, albeit with toned-down elements for production. The sharp, thin headlights and a modest grille retain the vehicle's futuristic appeal, while black cladding emphasizes its SUV character. With 18-inch or 19-inch aero-optimized wheels and dual-tone color options, the EV strikes a balance between sporty and elegance.

Despite being slightly smaller than the concept, the Urban Cruiser EV is marginally larger than its Suzuki counterpart, with dimensions of 4,285mm in length, 1,800mm in width, and 1,640mm in height. Its wheelbase of 2,700mm ensures ample cabin space, while a 5.2-meter turning radius adds to its urban agility.

Powertrain Options and AWD Capability

The Toyota Urban Cruiser EV offers two lithium-iron phosphate battery options: 49kWh and 61kWh. The smaller battery supports a 144hp front motor, while the larger one powers a 174hp motor. For adventure enthusiasts, an AWD variant with a 65hp rear motor delivers a combined output of 184hp and 300Nm torque, complemented by features like hill-descent control and Trail Mode.

Premium Interiors and Advanced Features

Inside, the Urban Cruiser EV mirrors the Suzuki e Vitara’s cabin layout, complete with a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and a 10.1-inch infotainment touchscreen supporting Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Notable features include:

  • Electronic parking brake with auto hold

  • Wireless phone charging

  • Powered driver’s seat adjustment

  • JBL audio system

  • Sliding and reclining rear seats with a 40:20:40 split-fold

Safety is also prioritized with an ADAS suite, 360-degree camera, and six airbags, offering peace of mind to buyers.

Launch Timeline and Expected Pricing

Set to make its public debut at the 2025 Brussels Motor Show on January 10, the global launch of The Urban Cruiser EV is expected later in the year. While details of its Indian debut remain under wraps, production will take place at Suzuki’s Gujarat facility. Pricing for the UK market will be announced in Q3 2025, and competitive pricing is expected for India.
