Tokyo City Is Just Unbelievable It Revealed Its First Ever Flying Car

Tokyo City is just Unbelievable, it revealed its first-ever flying car

Most Indians have always found flying cars to be a fascinating dream. A childhood fantasy that would be difficult to accept if it came true but it seems like this dream is about to come true as Tokyo has big plans to go. At a global exhibition displaying the latest innovations on Friday, a "flying car" ascended to the skies for the first time in Tokyo. At a parking lot outside the Tokyo Big Sight convention center in the capital's Koto Ward for SusHi Tech Tokyo 2024, some 500 people cheered as the vehicle hovered about 10 meters above the ground. According to the Tokyo metropolitan government and other organizers, flying cars are anticipated to be a feature of the next generation of human transportation and will be useful in reducing traffic jams and transporting supplies to disaster zones.

Hexa: The Airborne Machine

The single-seat passenger cabin of the Hexa, which is produced by Lift Aircraft Inc. in the United States, is equipped with eighteen propellers. With a width of 4.5 meters and 2.6 meters high and weighs around 196 kilograms.

Once more, the Hexa will give demonstrations on Saturday, Wednesday, and Thursday for about fifteen minutes each, twice a day. It costs nothing to watch the demonstrations.

The Tokyo Governor's Speech

At a ceremony marking the first flight, Tokyo Governor Yuriko Koike declared, "I want more people to experience this cutting-edge technology." "I look forward to flying cars becoming a normal means of transportation."

Japanese Development of Flying Cars

With the announcement of significant investment plans for the development of flying automobiles, the Japanese government has its sights set high. The nation is racing to bring flying cars into the real world, hoping to have them operational by the 2025 World Exposition in Osaka.

The SD-05 Flying Car by SkyDrive

The design of SkyDrive's commercial model flying vehicle, the SkyDrive SD-05, was unveiled by the leading developer and manufacturer of drones for cargo and flying automobiles. The company intends to employ this model, which is presently under development, to introduce an air taxi service in the Osaka Bay area for the Japan Expo 2025 Osaka global exposition.

The SD-05 is a tiny, two-seat electric-powered aircraft that can land and take off vertically. Its computer-controlled flight technology ensures flight stability while being piloted by a driver. Additionally, it has a maximum cruise speed of 100 km/h and can travel up to about 10 km.

Collaboration with Charging System Developer

Tokyo-based SkyDrive and KEPCO started working together in 2022 leading to the new joint development project. KEPCO now plans to enter the flying car charging system business
