Tata Nexon EV 2025: 40 kWh Models Discontinued for a Fresh New Lineup

Tata Motors has refreshed its popular Nexon EV range for 2025 by saying goodbye to the 40 kWh models This update introduces a cleaner lineup with just two battery options and a range of stylish trims that promise a smooth, fun, and efficient electric drive for everyone.

Big changes are happening in the world of electric cars this year. Tata Motors has decided to shake up its Nexon EV lineup for 2025 by discontinuing the 40 kWh variants. The move is part of a strategy to keep things simple and exciting while making sure that every model meets the needs of modern drivers.

Whether you are a city commuter or planning longer trips on the highway this update is set to make your electric ride even cooler.

The Big Change Explained

Until now the Nexon EV Long Range models came with a 40.5 kWh battery pack which acted as a middle option between the smaller 30 kWh and the larger 45 kWh variants. However, in February 2025, Tata Motors decided to pull the plug on the 40 kWh options.

The company has not given a clear reason yet but the decision seems to be all about making the lineup simpler and more focused on what matters for everyday driving.

What’s In It for You?

If you were considering a Tata Nexon EV the change means you now have two clear choices. When it comes to batteries the only options available are a 30 kWh unit or a 45 kWh unit. With the 30 kWh battery you get a range of about 275 km while the 45 kWh option can take you up to around 489 km on a single charge.

This makes it easier for buyers to choose the right model for their needs without getting confused by too many options.

Tata Motors is known for keeping things straightforward and reliable and this update is another example of that Promise. By streamlining the battery choices the company is making it even simpler for you to decide on the perfect EV that matches your lifestyle and driving habits.

New Variants and Cool Features

Even though the 40 kWh variant is gone, the Nexon EV is far from boring. Tata has introduced a total of ten variants spread across eight stylish trims to cater to a wide range of tastes and budgets. These include popular trims like Creative, Creative +, Fearless, Fearless +, Fearless + S, Empowered, Empowered + and the snazzy Red Dark version.

Now, the LR (Long Range) variants all come with the robust 45 kWh battery pack right from the base Creative trim. This means that no matter which LR model you choose you are set for longer drives and better performance.

Every variant is designed to offer a blend of performance and style making sure that you enjoy a smooth ride whether you are commuting or taking a weekend getaway.

Competitive Pricing to Sweeten the Deal

One of the best parts of this update is the attractive pricing which Tata Motors has set for the Nexon EV range. For the MR (Mid Range) variants the prices start at around Rs 12.49 lakh for the Creative + trim and can go up to about Rs 14.79 lakh for the Empowered trim.

On the LR side prices begin at Rs 13.99 lakh for the base Creative model and can reach up to Rs 17.19 lakh for the top-end Red Dark trim.

These prices are very competitive in today’s market and offer great value for a car that is not only eco-friendly but also packed with modern features. The updated pricing makes the Nexon EV a strong contender for anyone looking to join the electric vehicle revolution without breaking the bank.

Why This Change Could Be a Game Changer

This revamp of the Nexon EV lineup is more than just a minor update. It is a smart move by Tata Motors to simplify choices and boost overall performance. By removing the middle option the company is encouraging buyers to go for models that deliver either quick city rides or long-distance comfort with fewer compromises.

The update comes at a time when electric vehicles are becoming more popular in India. With more people looking for cleaner, greener alternatives Tata’s refreshed Nexon EV range is set to attract a wider audience. The change is expected to make it easier for drivers to make a confident decision on their next electric car and enjoy a hassle-free, fun driving experience.

Overall, the 2025 update to the Tata Nexon EV lineup marks an exciting step forward for Tata Motors and electric vehicle enthusiasts alike. By discontinuing the 40 kWh models and focusing on clear, attractive battery options the company is simplifying the buying process and enhancing performance. The new range offers just two battery choices along with a variety of cool variants and competitive prices that suit every need.

For those looking to switch to electric or upgrade their current ride, this update from Tata Motors means a cleaner, more streamlined lineup that is built for real-life driving. Enjoy the ease of choice and the promise of a better electric experience with the new Tata Nexon EV for 2025.
