Tata Curvv The Stylish Suv Coupe Ready To Hit The Roads Tomorrow

Tata Curvv: The Stylish SUV Coupe Ready to Hit the Roads Tomorrow

Tata Motors is all set to unveil its latest SUV, the Tata Curvv, tomorrow. This new addition to Tata's lineup brings a fresh and stylish SUV-coupe body style that aims to shake up the market. The Curvv will be competing against the Citroen Basalt and will also provide a chic alternative to other compact SUVs like the Hyundai Creta, Maruti Grand Vitara, Skoda Kushaq, and Honda Elevate. Here’s what you need to know about this exciting new car ahead of its much-anticipated launch.

Sleek and Bold Design

The Tata Curvv stands out mainly due to its unique design. It is Tata’s first venture into the SUV-coupe segment, and it has certainly made a bold statement. The car features a connected LED DRL (Daytime Running Light) strip that greets you with a stylish light show when you lock or unlock the vehicle. The front of the car is adorned with silver accents on the grille and bumper, adding a touch of elegance similar to the new Harrier.

The headlights and fog lamps are vertically arranged in a triangular design, and there are parking sensors embedded into the bumper. The front also includes a silver skid plate and a front camera, hinting at the inclusion of a 360-degree camera setup. However, it's the side profile that captures most people's attention with its sloping roofline, giving it a sleek and aerodynamic look. The 18-inch dual-tone alloy wheels with a petal-shaped design and flush door handles further enhance its modern appeal. The rear continues the theme with connected LED tail lights, a tall tailgate, and a prominent silver skid plate.

Inside, It’s All About Comfort and Style

Stepping into the Curvv, you might notice a sense of familiarity if you’ve been inside a Tata Nexon before. The interior of the Curvv shares some similarities with the Nexon, such as a two-tone cabin theme. Depending on the variant you choose, the cabin theme can vary, adding a personal touch to your ride. The car also shares the same dual digital display and central console setup as the Nexon, offering a modern and user-friendly interface. However, it does feature the four-spoke steering wheel seen in the Tata Harrier and Safari models, adding a bit of rugged charm.

Packed with Features and Safety Equipment

The Tata Curvv is loaded with features that cater to both convenience and safety. A large 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system takes center stage on the dashboard, providing easy access to various controls and media. It is paired with a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster that provides a clear display of essential driving information. Additional features include a panoramic sunroof that lets in plenty of light, a wireless phone charger for hassle-free charging, and ventilated front seats to keep you cool during hot summer drives.

On the safety front, Tata has not compromised. The Curvv comes with six airbags as standard, ensuring maximum protection for all passengers. It also includes a 360-degree camera for better visibility while parking, a tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) to keep track of tire health, and advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) for a safer driving experience.

Engine Options: Both Petrol and Diesel Available

The Tata Curvv is set to offer a range of engine options to suit different driving preferences. There are two petrol engine options: a new 1.2-liter T-GDi turbo-petrol engine that delivers 125 PS of power and 225 Nm of torque, and another 1.2-liter turbo-petrol engine that offers 120 PS and 170 Nm. For those who prefer diesel, there’s a 1.5-litre engine option that churns out 118 PS and a solid 260 Nm of torque. All three engines are expected to come with a choice between a 6-speed manual transmission or a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission (DCT), providing flexibility for both traditional and modern driving styles.

Pricing and Market Rivals

The Tata Curvv is expected to be competitively priced, with an estimated starting price of Rs 9.5 lakh (ex-showroom). This positions it well against its main competitor, the Citroen Basalt. Besides the Basalt, the Curvv will also be an attractive alternative for those considering other compact SUVs like the Maruti Grand Vitara, Hyundai Creta, MG Astor, and Citroen C3 Aircross. With its stylish design, range of engine options and a plethora of features, Curvv aims to carve out its niche in this highly competitive segment.

In Summary, The Tata Curvv seems poised to make a significant impact in the SUV market with its unique coupe styling, feature-packed interiors, and a choice of powerful engines. It offers a compelling blend of style, comfort, and practicality that could attract buyers looking for something fresh and modern. As it gears up for its launch, all eyes are on Tata Motors to see how the Curvv will perform and whether it will become the new favorite among SUV enthusiasts. The competition is tough, but the Curvv certainly has the chops to take on the best in its class.
