Tata Curvv Deliveries Begin Waiting Periods Revealed For Petrol Diesel And Ev Variants

Tata Curvv Deliveries Begin: Waiting Periods Revealed for Petrol, Diesel, and EV Variants

Tata Motors has officially commenced deliveries of its much-anticipated [Curvv SUV, a product that marks a new era for the brand in the C-Segment SUV market. This stylish and versatile coupe SUV, available in petrol, diesel, and electric variants, represents Tata’s bold foray into the coupe SUV segment in India. As deliveries start, customers are now beginning to receive their vehicles, while others are facing varying waiting periods depending on the model and location. Here’s everything you need to know about the waiting periods and the ongoing deliveries of the Tata Curvv.

Tata Curvv

The Tata Curvv is a significant milestone for Tata Motors, both as their first C-Segment compact SUV and as an experiment to test the waters for coupe SUVs in the Indian market. Launched with multiple powertrain options, including petrol, diesel, and fully electric variants, the Curvv offers something for every type of buyer. The bold design language, cutting-edge features, and eco-friendly options make it a standout in a competitive SUV market.

The pricing is another crucial factor, with introductory prices set at Rs 10 lakh (ex-showroom) for the internal combustion engine (ICE) models and Rs 17.49 lakh (ex-showroom) for the electric variant (EV). These prices are introductory and are subject to change after October 31, 2024.

Delivery Updates for Tata Curvv Buyers

Tata Motors has started delivering the Curvv to customers who had pre-booked their vehicles. Deliveries have begun for both the ICE and EV variants, with the availability of certain variants and trims playing a key role in how quickly customers receive their cars. The company is working diligently to match production to demand, ensuring a steady flow of deliveries. However, as with most new vehicle launches, waiting periods are inevitable, and they vary based on a number of factors, including location, trim level, and powertrain choice.

Waiting Periods

Tata Motors has revealed the estimated waiting periods for various Curvv models. On average, the waiting time ranges between 4 and 8 weeks, depending on the variant and trim level. Here's a detailed breakdown of the waiting periods for the different powertrains and trims:

Curvv EV Waiting Period

For the Curvv EV, the waiting period is relatively short, with customers expected to wait around 4 weeks (1 month) for delivery. This applies across the Creative, Accomplished, and Empowered trims, which Tata Motors refers to as "Personas." The shorter waiting period for the EV variant reflects Tata’s focus on promoting its electric range, as well as a likely higher initial production capacity for the electric model.

Curvv Diesel Waiting Period

For buyers opting for the diesel variant of the Tata Curvv, the waiting period varies depending on the trim and transmission type:

  • Diesel Manual (MT): The base Smart trim has the longest waiting period, with deliveries expected after 8 weeks (2 months). However, customers choosing higher trims like Pure, Creative, Accomplished, and Empowered will face a reduced waiting period of just 4 weeks (1 month), thanks to higher production capacity for these versions.

  • Diesel DCA (Automatic):The Diesel DCA variants across the Pure, Creative, and Accomplished trims all have a uniform 8-week (2 months) waiting period. This suggests that the automatic diesel variants are in higher demand or have lower initial production runs.

    Curvv Petrol Waiting Period

Petrol buyers of the Tata Curvv will experience a similar variation in waiting periods:

  • 1.2L GDi DCA (Automatic):The waiting period for this engine with automatic transmission is 8 weeks (2 months) across the Creative and Accomplished trims, reflecting a slightly longer wait time compared to other variants.

  • 1.2L GDi MT (Manual): The manual transmission variants in the Creative and Accomplished trims have a shorter waiting period of 6 weeks (1.5 months).

  • 1.2L Revotron: For the 1.2L Revotron engine variants with manual transmission, customers will face a 4-week (1 month) waiting period for the Pure, Creative, and Accomplished trims. However, if opting for the Smart trim with manual transmission, the waiting time doubles to 8 weeks (2 months). The DCA (automatic) variants of the 1.2 Revotron engine have a 6-week (1.5 months) waiting period for the same trims.

Key Takeaways

The launch of the Tata Curvv is shaping up to be a significant event for Tata Motors. By offering petrol, diesel, and electric options, the brand is catering to a wide range of customers with different preferences and needs. However, the waiting period remains a challenge for some customers, with the diesel and petrol variants experiencing longer delays compared to the electric model.

The coupe SUV design, coupled with Tata’s reliability and a broad range of trims and powertrain options, make the Curvv a compelling choice in its segment. Buyers will need to carefully consider their preferred variant and trim level, as this will directly affect how long they will wait for their new vehicle.

Conclusion

Tata Motors has made a bold move by entering the coupe SUV market with the Curvv. As the company manages production and delivery timelines, it will be interesting to see how the Curvv performs in terms of sales and customer satisfaction. With the growing trend of electric vehicles and the increasing demand for stylish, feature-packed SUVs, the Tata Curvv has the potential to be a game-changer in the Indian automotive market.
