Tata has confirmed the launch of the Altroz facelift on May 22, 2025, which came as a relief to Tata enthusiasts and many car buyers across India; this facelift is the first update to the Altroz since its launch in 2020.
During the few years since its launch, the Altroz has had one or two slight updates, but as part of the facelift, there have been changes made to the design, updates to the tech, and a number of changes made to several variants and features.
Design Changes and Feature Upgrades
Tata has now revealed the new styling of the Altroz, which features sharper styling elements on the front fascia, new lighting elements, and new bumpers that make the front end appear modern and aggressive.
The cabin has been packed with a new 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and even a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, giving the hatchback an injection of technology when it was needed.
The Altroz facelift also brings with it a lot of new features, like:
Six airbags as standard
360-degree surround-view camera
Voice-assisted electric sunroof (optional)
Wireless charging
Push-button start/stop
Powertrain Options Remain Familiar
While Tata has not officially confirmed the engines yet, the facelift will likely continue to be with the same engines as the outgoing model. This may include:
1.2-litre 3-cylinder petrol engine (87 bhp, 115 Nm)
1.5-litre 4-cylinder diesel engine (88 bhp, 200 Nm)
CNG will still be offered
The 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine (currently only in the Racer performance variant) may come later, but probably not at launch.
Expected Price and Market Positioning
The updated Altroz will probably be slightly more expensive than the outgoing version, which had a price range of ₹6.65 lakh (ex-showroom) to ₹11.30 lakh (ex-showroom). The new version price range is estimated to sit between ₹6.80 lakh to ₹12 lakh, depending on the variant and features. The Altroz, with the facelift, will be able to once again be competitive in the premium hatchback space with updated rivals such as the Hyundai i20, Maruti Suzuki Baleno, and Toyota Glanza.
