In what would be a noteworthy new chapter in India's electric vehicle realm, JSW MG Motor India will launch a new electric SUV distinction by having a freshly leaked design patent expose what had previously been "undervirtualisation by the ODM."
The electric SUV induction represents a new kind of vastly impactful endeavor to MG's aggressive expansion plans, meant to take on the largest, well-known electric SUVs that would oppose MG electric SUVs head-to-head in the world, these include; Tesla Model Y, KIA EV5, BYD Sealion 7, Volkswagen ID4 when its enhanced global footprint evolves-expanded.
The SUV will be based on MG's Modular Scalable Platform (MSP)-an outstanding EV architecture already seen on the MG Cyberster and MG 4. It will be a proper SUV, as opposed to MG's other vehicles that are based on ICE adaptations.
Being that this SUV was purposefully designed to be an EV, there will be a lot of creative opportunities to maximize space, efficiency, and performance.
Strong, Premium Design to Reflect Global Ambitions
Based on the patent images, the SUV will feature a bold, sophisticated exterior design highlighted by various premium styling elements. In the front view the SUV will showcase a bold branded logo and integrated LED head lamp, sharp LED DRL elements, a closed off shaped grille and bumper design along with some unique modern interpretations of EV front end styling. The crease in the bumper adds to a sporty aggressive attitude.
When looking out the back, the SUV would feature a connected wrap-around LED tail lamps, rugged sporty rear bumper, and downward cascading roof spoiler, merging practicality and performance elements alongside design.
The SUV would feature a rear wiper and sporty looking faux fixed roof bars to enhance the SUV credentials while featuring larger styled and unique alloy wheels.
A Roomy, Adaptable Mid-Size EV
Viewing it from the side, it is presented with a longer wheel base, large rear doors, normal door handles, and plenty of glass, which suggests studio cabin space and some consideration of flexibility.
The powertrain details still remains uncompleted or unconfirmed but it's anticipated based on the Modular Scalable Platform that different battery options and improved connectivity specs will possibly be there.
MG's previous EV's the Windsor EV and Windsor EV Pro, have done representatively good sales in the Indian market, and with this bold new offer, it appears JSW MG Motor India is trying to up their game in the EV market, as they, compete with other rivals globally—with design and ambition not just technology, while giving good thought cyclical flexibility.
More official information is likely heading your way as production gets closer for the SUV.
