Nissan has officially introduced the sixth-generation Micra, now reimagined as a fully electric vehicle. Designed at Nissan Design Europe in London, the new Micra EV is built on the Ampr Small platform, shared with the upcoming Renault 5, and is set to go on sale in Europe later this year. ## Design and Features
The 2025 Micra EV showcases a distinctive exterior with semi-circular LED daytime running lights that give it a "friendly face" appearance. The vehicle features prominent wheel arches with black panel inserts, 18-inch wheels, and an "ice-cream scoop" feature line along its sides. Buyers will have a choice of six body colors, two roof options, and a total of 14 color combinations.
Inside, the Micra EV offers a spacious cabin with a 300-liter boot and split-folding rear seats. The interior is equipped with 48-color ambient lighting and a Harman Kardon audio system.
The infotainment system includes voice control via Google Assistant, allowing drivers to manage music, adjust car settings, and control smart home devices.
Powertrain and Performance
The Micra EV will be available with two battery options: a 40 kWh battery delivering 120 hp and a 52 kWh battery producing 147 hp. The larger battery offers a range of up to 400 km on a single charge.
Both variants support DC fast charging, with the 52 kWh version capable of charging from 15% to 80% in approximately 30 minutes. ## Market Positioning
Nissan aims to position the Micra EV as an affordable and practical option for urban drivers seeking to transition to electric mobility. While specific pricing details have not been disclosed, the company emphasizes the Micra's blend of style, efficiency, and advanced features as key selling points.
