MG Hector Plus Expands Lineup with Two New Variants: A New Definition of Fashion, Luxury, and Function

MG Motor India has introduced two exciting additions to its Hector Plus lineup, enhancing its range with two new variants: Select Pro petrol CVT and the Smart Pro diesel MT. Already popular for its advanced creature comforts, large cabin space and reputed 6+1 flexible-seating solutions, the Hector Plus models have quickly become the darling of Indian SUV fans. These new trim levels extend that narrative. These variants are priced at Rs. 19.72 lakh and Rs. 20.65 lakhs(ex-showroom) features advanced tech, modern comforts & powerful engines.

Key Features and Interior Enhancements

The Select Pro petrol CVT is the latest addition and the Smart Pro diesel MT boasts of several luxurious attributes intended to provide state-of-the-art driving and in-cabin experience. The larger 14-inch touchscreen infotainment system is as much for fun as it is functional, courtesy of MG’s i-Smart connected car solutions. This tech suite makes it possible for drivers and passengers to be connected, making every trip a lot more interactive.

Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are also included, ensuring seamless smartphone integration without the hassle of cables. Another convenient addition is the wireless charging pad, which caters to the growing trend of wireless devices, allowing passengers to easily recharge their phones on the go. The interiors also receive an engine start-stop button for added convenience, a powered driver’s seat for customizable comfort, and plush leatherette upholstery. The dual-tone interior theme further enhances the aesthetics, making the cabin feel both luxurious and modern.

Stylish Exterior Upgrades

On the exterior, MG has added visual enhancements that contribute to the vehicle's premium appeal. Both new variants feature LED projector headlamps, offering improved nighttime visibility and a sleek design that adds to the vehicle’s bold stance. The 18-inch machined alloy wheels add a touch of sophistication while providing improved road handling. At the rear, LED taillights are paired with a connected LED light bar, giving the Hector Plus a distinctive appearance that stands out on the road. These updates reflect MG’s commitment to blending style with functionality, creating an SUV that is both visually appealing and equipped for the demands of urban driving.

Engine and Performance Options

The two new variants of the Hector Plus come with different powertrains, catering to diverse driving preferences. The Select Pro petrol CVT version is powered by a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine that delivers 141 bhp and 250 Nm of torque. Known for its responsive nature and smooth acceleration, this engine is paired with a CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission), providing an effortless driving experience in city traffic and smooth cruising on highways. The CVT transmission is also well-suited for fuel efficiency, making it an ideal choice for those who prioritize a balance of power and economy.

For those who prefer diesel, the Smart Pro diesel MT variant features a robust 2.0-liter engine capable of delivering 168 bhp and a substantial 350 Nm of torque. This diesel powertrain is known for its strong mid-range performance and impressive pulling power, making it ideal for longer drives and challenging terrains. The manual transmission offers a more hands-on driving experience, appealing to those who enjoy greater control over gear shifts. This variant is perfect for customers who frequently travel with a full load, as the diesel engine’s torque ensures smooth performance even when the SUV is fully occupied.

Seven-Seat Configuration: Room for Everyone

One of the major attractions of both new Hector Plus variants is the seven-seat layout. This configuration makes the Hector Plus an ideal choice for larger families and groups, providing ample seating without sacrificing comfort or space. With three rows of seats, the Hector Plus comfortably accommodates both passengers and luggage, making it a versatile option for road trips, family outings, or day-to-day commutes. The seven-seat setup offers flexibility, with the option to fold down the rear seats to create additional cargo space when needed.

Competitive Pricing in a Packed Segment

With prices starting at Rs. 19.72 lakh for the Select Pro petrol CVT and Rs. 20.65 lakh for the Smart Pro diesel MT (ex-showroom), MG Motor India has positioned these new variants to compete effectively within the premium mid-size SUV segment. In a market where buyers are increasingly looking for feature-rich vehicles that offer value for money, the Hector Plus continues to be a strong contender with its premium features and affordable price range. Competitors in this segment include popular models like the Tata Safari, Hyundai Alcazar, and Mahindra XUV700, all of which cater to similar customer preferences for space, technology, and performance.

Conclusion

While launching the Select Pro petrol CVT & Smart Pro diesel MT variants, Hector Plus has got a new and better profile in the Indian market that presents customers with better and highly integrated options of performance and luxury along with practicality. These features enhance the Hector Plus based on its key attributes of the new generation SUVs to fulfil the expectations of today’s inversed customers in terms of technology, comfort, and flexibility of seats. Having petrol and diesel variants optimally aligns MG with different driving requirements and fuel type requirements. Selecting functional, design, comfort, safety, and technology, features, it can be said that while being a premium and well-rounded SUV, Hector Plus does not sacrifice driving experience for utility. These new variants underpin the company strategy to tailor its product portfolio in response to pressing customer feedback, which puts MG in good stead as it enters the much-contested SUV segment. The new Hector Plus variants are an expression of pure refinement and functionality that will bring immense joy to the Indian SUV buyer.
