Our Park+ Highlight of the Day includes details on the newly introduced Jio Hinglish voice assist tech on the Comet EV.
The second electric vehicle, the Comet, from British automaker MG Motor will provide first-in-class connected car capabilities thanks to a cooperation with Jio Platforms. A Jio Hinglish Voice Assistant system that is connected with music applications, financial apps, connection, and hardware will be included with the MG Comet EV as part of the cooperation. The collaboration seeks to improve Comet's electric car user experience.
The voice assistant, known as "Hello Jio," has been taught to recognise several regional dialects and the tone of an Indian speaker. It adds in-car instructions and controls, along with conversations that provide details about the weather, cricket, and other topics. Additionally, users may control other features like the car's AC temperature, direct song playback, and even cricket scores with short voice requests.
Customers will be able to seamlessly integrate Hinglish Voice Assistant-enabled experiences powered by Jio's Digital Assets in its recently released electric car Comet thanks to the agreement. Customers of the MG Comet EV will profit from Jio's revolutionary assets, such as India's first-ever Hinglish Voice Assistant system combined with Music Apps, Payment Apps, Connectivity Platform, and Hardware, the brand said while confirming the announcement through an official press release.
Mr Ashish Lodha, President, Jio Platforms, said, "Jio has been building an ecosystem of cutting-edge technology products and solutions for Indian users. Our continued partnership and developments with MG Motor India are important milestones in that journey. HelloJio Voice Assistant, Streaming, Payment Apps, eSIM, and Jio IOT will enable MG users to access real-time connectivity, infotainment, and connected car experiences with a new dimension of 'Talk to your car'. It is a commitment to technological evolution in the automobile industry with innovation as its key pillar".
As part of this partnership, Jio's cutting-edge eSIM technology will also be installed in the MG Comet EV, increasing vehicle safety. Additionally, when the car is in motion, the system detects the vehicle and encrypts the connection. Since its beginning, MG has placed a high priority on auto-tech innovation in the Indian automotive sector.
“Technology and innovation are leading the connected car space in the automobile industry. The current trend focuses increasingly on software-driven devices and our current partnership with a tech innovator like Jio in the Smart Mobility space is a step towards establishing MG Motor as a tech leader in the automobile industry. The MGI-Jio partnership will ensure our newly launched MG Comet EV enriches the driving experience for GenZ customers while ensuring safety and In-Car experiences backed by great technology,” said Mr Gaurav Gupta, Deputy Managing Director, MG Motor India on this new partnership with Reliance Jio.
The Comet EV was introduced by MG Motor in India in April 2023 at a starting price of Rs 7.98 lakh (ex-showroom). Pace, Play, and Plush are the three variations of the electric vehicle that are offered. The base Pace model is priced at Rs. 7.98 lakh, while the mid-spec Play and top-spec Plush models cost, respectively, Rs. 9.28 lakh and Rs. 9.98 lakh. MG's brand-new electric vehicle is propelled by an electric engine and a 17.3kWh battery pack. It produces 110Nm of maximum torque and 41bhp of maximum power.
