Mercedes to unveil the E-Class EV by 2027

Mercedes-Benz said at its Capital Market Day presentation that the completely electric E-Class is in development and would be on the market by 2027. The introduction of the electric sedan in India may potentially take place in the future. This new E-Class EV, which will compete with Tesla and BMW, is anticipated to have high-end amenities and a longer range.

Mercedes-Benz released a statement at its Capital Market Day presentation, that a completely electric E-Class is in development and will be on the market by 2027. The introduction of the electric sedan in India may potentially take place in the future. This new E-Class EV, which will compete with Tesla and BMW, is anticipated to have high-end amenities and a longer range. As we previously reported, the German brand also revealed information regarding a smaller G-Class offshoot and the S-Class facelift.

The design will remain uniform for the petrol diesel and the electric variants along with it the E-Class EV will be larger than its ICE equivalent and the smaller G-class SUV will be called with “g” for a differentiation term.

Mercedes E-Class Electric Details

The electric Mercedes sedan's teaser showed a silhouette resembling that of the current E-Class and could combine aspects of the next-generation Mercedes electric vehicles as well as its combustion-engine equivalent. This new E-Class EV will include advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) up to Level 3 and be bigger than its ICE equivalent. It might be offered alongside the E-Class petrol and diesel variants and take the place of the EQE Sedan that is sold abroad. Mercedes only offers the E-Class LWB in India, and it costs between Rs 78.5 lakh and Rs 92.5 lakh.

Mercedes S-Class Facelift slated for 2026 and EV to be launched by 2030

The facelifted S-Class, which has new technology and appearance, is probably going to keep its current powertrains. The Mercedes Manufacture range will increase the customization choices for the luxury car that is scheduled to arrive in 2026.

The S 350d (diesel) and S 450 (petrol) have respective costs of Rs 1.79 crore and Rs 1.89 crore, and the modified limousine is probably going to cost a little more. Mercedes also announced that an electric S-Class sedan is in the works and should be available by the end of 2030.

Mercedes to launch smaller G-Class which will be called “g” instead of “G”

The company has already discussed creating a scaled-down version of its G-Class SUV. Mercedes aims to increase the number of SUVs in its lineup with the introduction of the G-Class electric, which is formally known as the G 580 with EQ Technology.

The new SUV will include a four-wheel drive, an internal combustion engine (ICE), and an all-electric drivetrain. In certain foreign areas, Mercedes might also sell the "baby" G as a plug-in hybrid. The future small G-Class's nameplate will read "g" rather than "G" for distinctiveness. Similar to the facelift for the S-Class, the Manufaktur package will be available here.

Mercedes GLC EV and C-Class EV to be launched in 2026

Additionally, the Mercedes C-Class EV and GLC electric SUV will be available in 2026. The future electric GLC and C-Class will be part of the 'core luxury' market, which is presently represented by vehicles like the CLE and E-Class worldwide. The MMA platform, which will be utilized in the upcoming CLA car, might support both.

Conclusion

Mercedes-Benz is rapidly expanding its electric and hybrid lineup, solidifying its position in the luxury EV market. With the fully electric E-Class set to debut by 2027, followed by the S-Class EV by 2030, the brand is making a strong push towards sustainability without compromising luxury and performance. Additionally, the introduction of the smaller "g" G-Class SUV and the launch of electric versions of the C-Class and GLC by 2026 indicate a well-rounded strategy catering to various segments.
