Mercedes-Benz Accelerates into 2024 with a Lineup of Over 12 New Cars and SUVs in India

Mercedes-Benz, riding high on its record-breaking annual sales in India in 2023, has unveiled its ambitious plans for 2024, affirming its commitment to the Indian market. The German luxury carmaker has commenced the year with the launch of the GLS SUV, positioned between Rs 1.32 crore and Rs 1.37 crore, setting the stage for a year filled with excitement. The GLS is just the tip of the iceberg, as Mercedes-Benz has officially confirmed over 12 new models set to make their mark in the Indian automotive landscape.

Among the eagerly anticipated launches is the 2024 Mercedes-Benz E-Class, expected to hit the Indian roads by late 2024. Priced between Rs 70 lakh and Rs 90 lakh, this sixth-generation E-Class will be available exclusively in the long-wheelbase variant, boasting a larger size compared to its predecessor and featuring design elements reminiscent of the luxurious S-Class. The 'Superscreen,' a 12.3-inch instrument cluster, a 14.4-inch touchscreen infotainment display, and a 12.3-inch passenger touchscreen, might make its way to the India-spec E-Class. Powering options are likely to include a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine with a 48V mild-hybrid assist or a 2.0-litre diesel engine.

Adding a touch of elegance to the lineup is the Mercedes GLC Coupe, a stylish alternative to the GLC SUV. Expected to arrive early in 2024, this coupe features a raked roofline and a plunging liftback-like tailgate, sharing its powertrain options with its SUV counterpart. With an anticipated price range of Rs 75 lakh to Rs 80 lakh, the GLC Coupe promises a unique blend of sophistication and performance.

The arrival of the Mercedes-Benz CLE is set to redefine luxury coupes in India. Expected to debut in late 2024 with an estimated price tag of around Rs 1.1 crore, the CLE offers a two-door, two-plus-two seating configuration, spacious interiors, and integrated speakers in the headrests. The global powertrain range includes various options, but India is likely to receive the 2.0-litre turbo-petrol and 2.0-litre diesel engine choices.

Mercedes-Benz is also set to refresh its lineup with the GLA and GLB facelifts. The GLA facelift, expected to be priced around Rs 45 lakh to Rs 49 lakh, will showcase design changes at the front, new LED lighting, and updated cabin features. The GLB facelift, arriving around the same time, will offer similar enhancements, maintaining its position in the Rs 65 lakh to Rs 70 lakh price bracket.

For performance enthusiasts, the middle of the year will witness the arrival of the new Mercedes-AMG GT, a larger and more practical model based on the new SL. Priced at approximately Rs 2.5 crore, the sports coupe is equipped with a twin-turbo 4.0-litre V8, delivering 476hp in the 55 4Matic+ version and 585hp in the 63 4Matic+ variant.

As the year unfolds, Mercedes-Benz is gearing up for the launch of the ultra-luxurious Maybach EQS SUV, an all-electric marvel priced around Rs 4 crore. With signature Maybach features and a powerful 658hp electric drivetrain, this SUV is expected to redefine opulence in the electric vehicle segment.

Closing the year on an electrifying note is the arrival of the Mercedes-Benz EQG, an all-electric version of the iconic G Wagon. Expected to be priced around Rs 3 crore, the EQG retains the G-Class's rugged charm while incorporating four electric motors and a 'G-Turn' function, showcasing its capability and agility.

Mercedes-Benz's extensive lineup for 2024 reaffirms its commitment to delivering cutting-edge technology, luxury, and performance to Indian consumers. As the automotive industry shifts towards electrification, the inclusion of electric models in the lineup underlines Mercedes-Benz's dedication to a sustainable and innovative future in the Indian market. Auto enthusiasts and luxury car aficionados alike can anticipate an exciting year ahead as Mercedes-Benz unfolds its latest offerings on Indian roads.
