The long-awaited SUV by Maruti Suzuki, the Victoris, has already started to reach dealerships throughout India, leaving a huge buzz among potential customers. Debuting in the market between the Brezza and Grand Vitara, the Victoris is being sold at the Maruti or the Maruti car ‘Arena’ stores, and this adds to the existing mid-size SUV portfolio of the brand.
The SUV has an assertive design language with a wide grille, continuously linked LED DRLs, a squared-off appearance and a sharply styled rear shape. This is a combination of modern appearance and the powerful presence on the roads, which puts it in direct opposition with its long-term competitors in the segment.
High Quality Features and Interiors
Step inside and the Victoris presents itself as a feature-packed family SUV. A 10.1-inch infotainment touchscreen is packaged with a 10.25-inch fully digital driver display. Also included in the premium quotient is 64-colour ambient lighting, front seats that are ventilated and a panoramic sunroof - a model often demanded by the current SUV market.
Maruti also fitted Level 2 ADAS, 360-degree camera and a high-end Infinity sound system with Dolby Atmos into the Victoris to provide an engaging cabin experience. Connectivity can be done wirelessly on smart phones and a five star Bharat NCAP rating gives it the safety credentials.
Engine and Variants
The Victoris under the hood will give several options: mild-hybrid petrol, strong-hybrid powertrain, and CNG variant with an innovative underfloor tank to reach greater boot space. It is hoped that this multi-fuel strategy will broaden its attractiveness among various types of buyers, such as commuters and long-distance travelers.
Launch Timeline and Rivals
Bookings are already in progress at ₹11,000 and the actual opening will be in October 2025. Projected to cost between 11 lakh and 18 lakh (ex-showroom) the Victoris will be in direct competition with Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Skoda Kushaq, and Honda Elevate.
Bottom Line
With its mix of radical design, prestige features, high safety offer and its flexible powertrain offers, the Maruti Suzuki Victoris is emerging as perhaps the most expected SUV of the year. This prompt movement of Maruti before the festive season indicates its desire to have a bigger share in the India mid-size SUV market that is growing rapidly
