Maruti Suzuki Unveils New Swift Cng With Best In Class Mileage And Modern Features

Maruti Suzuki Unveils New Swift CNG with Best-in-Class Mileage and Modern Features

Maruti Suzuki has launched the new Swift S-CNG, taking a significant step toward eco-friendly and fuel-efficient mobility. Known for its spirited performance and iconic style, the Swift has been a popular choice in the premium hatchback segment. The latest iteration—the Swift S-CNG—promises to extend this legacy while catering to environmentally-conscious buyers. With a segment-leading fuel efficiency of 32.85 km/kg, the Swift S-CNG is poised to set new benchmarks for hatchbacks in India.

Maruti Swift CNG

The Swift S-CNG is now available in three variants—VXI, VXI (O), and ZXI. This marks an expansion over the previous lineup, which had only two variants. All variants come equipped with a 5-speed manual gearbox, ensuring a smooth and engaging driving experience. Under the hood, the Swift CNG features a Z-series Dual VVT engine that delivers 101.8 Nm of torque at 2900 rpm, making it well-suited for both city driving and highway cruising.

Maruti Suzuki's decision to introduce the S-CNG variant of the Swift aligns with its broader goal of providing more eco-friendly options to its customers. The fuel efficiency of 32.85 km/kg not only improves over its predecessor but also positions the Swift S-CNG as a leader in fuel economy within its class. This 6% improvement in mileage over the previous model highlights Maruti Suzuki’s dedication to blending performance with sustainability.

Design and Safety Features

The 2024 Swift S-CNG maintains its signature sporty look, complete with the bold wraparound character line that gives the car its dynamic appearance. Although the exterior design remains largely unchanged, Maruti Suzuki has made sure the performance and efficiency are top-notch.

The Swift S-CNG is also equipped with a range of safety features designed to offer peace of mind to drivers and passengers alike. These include six airbags, Electronic Stability Program (ESP), and Hill Hold Assist—features that are typically found in more expensive cars. Such inclusions emphasize the brand's commitment to safety while offering cutting-edge technology at an affordable price point.

Modern Convenience and Comfort

Inside the cabin, the Swift S-CNG doesn’t disappoint. It comes with a variety of modern features that make the driving experience more comfortable and enjoyable. The car includes automatic climate control, rear AC vents for better cooling, and a 7-inch Smart Play Pro infotainment system, which supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. These features ensure that passengers are comfortable and entertained throughout their journey.

In terms of dimensions, the Swift S-CNG remains compact enough for city driving while offering ample space for passengers. The car measures 3,860 mm in length, 1,735 mm in width, and 1,520 mm in height, making it a versatile option for urban environments.

Competitive Pricing and Subscription Model

Maruti Suzuki has priced the new Swift S-CNG between Rs 8.19 lakh and Rs 9.19 lakh (ex-showroom). This competitive pricing makes it an attractive choice for buyers looking for a feature-packed, fuel-efficient hatchback that doesn’t break the bank. The three variants offer flexibility, allowing customers to choose the one that best suits their needs and budget.

In addition to traditional purchasing methods, Maruti Suzuki is also offering the Swift S-CNG through its subscription program. This allows customers to use the car for an all-inclusive monthly fee starting at Rs 21,628, which covers registration, insurance, maintenance, and more. The subscription model is ideal for those who prefer flexibility over long-term ownership, making the Swift S-CNG more accessible to a wider audience.

Maruti Suzuki’s S-CNG Journey

Maruti Suzuki has been a pioneer in the production of CNG vehicles in India, launching its first CNG-powered car back in 2010. Since then, the company has sold over 2 million S-CNG vehicles, contributing significantly to reducing CO2 emissions in the country. According to Maruti Suzuki, this has led to a reduction of over 2 million tonnes of CO2 emissions—an impressive feat that underscores the company's commitment to green mobility.

With the launch of the new Swift S-CNG, Maruti Suzuki now offers a total of 14 S-CNG models across different body styles, giving customers more eco-friendly choices than ever before. Last fiscal year, the company's CNG sales in the passenger vehicle category saw a remarkable 46.8% growth compared to the previous year. Since 2010, Maruti Suzuki's CNG sales have registered a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of around 28%.

Conclusion

The Swift S-CNG is not just another hatchback—it is a testament to Maruti Suzuki's focus on sustainability, safety, and innovation. With its market-leading fuel efficiency, modern features, and competitive pricing, the Swift S-CNG is set to capture the attention of both environmentally-conscious buyers and driving enthusiasts. Whether you're looking for a daily driver or a car with long-term efficiency, the Swift S-CNG offers a compelling blend of performance and sustainability that few in its segment can match.
