Maruti Suzuki Celerio Is Offered In 4 Manual Transmission Variants

Maruti Suzuki Celerio is offered in 4 manual transmission variants

The Maruti Suzuki Celerio presents flexibility with four manual transmission variants, catering to diverse driving preferences. This range allows customers to choose the transmission type that suits their driving style, whether it's the engaging control of a manual transmission. With this variety, the Celerio continues to appeal to a broad audience, offering a tailored driving experience in line with individual preferences.

Maruti Suzuki Celerio

Introduction

The Celerio is a significant contributor to Maruti Suzuki's sales in India. To attract customers in the entry-level segment, Maruti introduced the new Celerio in India in November 2021. The updated model received new features and fresh design upgrades over the outgoing model. The Maruti Suzuki Celerio is available in four variants, namely LXI, VXI, ZXI, and the top-spec ZXI+.

Exterior

The current model is based on Maruti's Heartect platform. The company claims that the new model features a 3D Organic Sculpted design. The redesigned grille is highlighted by a chrome strip that connects the headlights. The tweaked bumper features circular fog lamps, which are enclosed in black housings.

As for dimensions, the Maruti Celerio has a length of 3,695 mm, a width of 1,655 mm, and a height of 1,555 mm. The Celerio has a wheelbase of 2,435 mm. The new model gets significant upgrades at the back, which include, a tweaked bumper, dewdrop-styled taillights, and a wiper with a washer. The hatchback rides on a set of 15-inch alloy wheels in urbane black colour.

The hatchback is available in six colours, which include Silky Silver, Arctic White, Caffeine Brown, Glistening Grey, Speedy Blue (new), and Solid Fire Red (new).

Interior

As for the interior, the new Celerio gets an all-black theme. The dashboard features a touchscreen infotainment system and barrel-themed air vents on the sides. Moreover, the twin-slot ventilation system gets chrome inserts. The new model also gets a stereoscopic instrument cluster.

Depending on the variant, the new model offers electrically adjustable and foldable ORVMs, an engine start-stop button, a seven-inch Smartplay Studio with a navigation feature, a gear shift indicator, and audio controls mounted on the steering wheel. Additionally, you also get a 60:40 split layout for the rear seats.

The AGS version, also known as AMT, gets the following features -

  • Hill hold assist (first-in-segment)

  • A smart key

  • Ergonomic gear level

Engine

The new Maruti Celerio is powered by a three-cylinder, 1.0-litre K10C petrol engine which produces 66 bhp at 5,500 rpm and 89 Nm of torque at 3,500 rpm. This engine is available in both five-speed manual transmission and AMT options.

Maruti introduced the Celerio CNG in the country in January 2022. The CNG version gets the same petrol engine with lower power output figures. In the CNG mode, the hatchback generates 56 bhp at 5,300 rpm and 82.1 Nm of torque at 3,400 rpm. The CNG version has a CNG tank capacity of 60 litres (water filling capacity).

The variant-wise mileage figures are as follows -

  • LXi, VXi, and ZXi manual transmission - 25.24 km/l

  • ZXi+ manual transmission - 24.97 km/l

  • CNG - 35.60 km/kg (as certified by the testing agency under rule 115(G) of CMVR 1989)

Safety

The updated Maruti Celerio is equipped with safety features such as speed-sensitive door locks, dual front airbags, and seatbelt reminders. Additionally, the hatchback also offers a rear defogger, speed alert system, hill start assist, and rear parking sensors.

The CNG version is equipped with dual interdependent ECUs (Electronic Control Units) and an intelligent injection system. The company claims that the technology is designed and developed for engine durability, safety, better mileage, and convenience.

Conclusion

The new Maruti Suzuki Celerio is a popular choice among first-time car buyers. It's a hatchback that's easy to drive and has a lot of features that are perfect for everyday use. It's also a very fuel-efficient car, which is an important factor for many car buyers. If you're looking for a car that's both affordable and has all the features you need, then the Maruti Suzuki Celerio has four great variant options.
