Mahindras Bold Electric Future Be05 And Xuv E9 Unveiled In Spy Shots

Mahindra's Bold Electric Future: BE.05 and XUV e9 Unveiled in Spy Shots

Mahindra’s leap into the electric future is not just a promise anymore; it’s coming to life with the recent spy shots of two highly anticipated electric SUVs: the BE.05 and the XUV e9. Both vehicles were seen undisguised during the shoot of a TV commercial, giving car enthusiasts a sneak peek into what could soon be a revolution in India's electric vehicle (EV) market.

Electric Future on the Horizon

The Indian auto giant has long been teasing its electric revolution, and now we have a clearer picture of what's coming. Mahindra plans to launch its BE.05, a compact electric SUV, in early 2025. Meanwhile, the XUV e9, expected a bit later, aims to make a bold mark in the electric SUV segment. Both models, part of Mahindra’s Born Electric series, seem ready to challenge the market with radical designs and tech-packed interiors.

The Stunning Mahindra BE.05: A Glimpse Into Tomorrow

At first glance, the BE.05 is an attention-grabber. Sporting sharp, angular lines and futuristic C-shaped lights, this SUV is designed to turn heads wherever it goes. Its aggressive stance and cutting-edge design make it look like a concept car that’s come straight off the stage. At a length of 4,370mm and featuring massive wheels, the BE.05 promises a road presence that will make it hard to ignore.

This SUV has been designed by Mahindra's star designer Pratap Bose and follows the trend of offering something bold and unique. Glossy black exterior elements give it a premium look, although they may be prone to wear and tear over time.

Inside, the BE.05 is just as futuristic as its exterior. The cabin features a minimalist design, focusing on a driver-centric layout. A floating dash and wraparound design element highlight the high-tech feel. With dual screens dominating the dashboard, the BE.05's cockpit is all about providing a tech-savvy driving experience.

Performance and Range: What to Expect

Mahindra is bringing some serious performance to the BE.05. It will come with two battery options: a 60kWh pack for standard range, and a bigger 79kWh pack capable of offering up to 450 km on a single charge. Not just that, this EV will feature ultra-fast charging. The larger battery can juice up from 20% to 80% in just 20 minutes when connected to a fast DC charger.

While the BE.05 is designed to cater to a wide audience, it appears to target those who love driving with rear-wheel and all-wheel drive configurations. The use of a 231hp motor ensures that it will not only look sporty but also deliver an engaging driving experience.

The Elegant Mahindra XUV e9: A Game-Changer

Where the BE.05 embraces sportiness, the XUV e9 takes a more elegant, sophisticated approach. This model, which was also spied on during the commercial shoot, is the second SUV in Mahindra’s Born Electric series. The XUV e9 is expected to share some of the same tech and design cues as the BE.05 but in a larger, more luxurious package.

With its fastback design, the XUV e9 blends the SUV form with a sleek, coupe-like silhouette. It’s a bold move for Mahindra and one that aims to set it apart from the competition. The XUV e9 is designed to appeal to those who want more space and elegance without compromising on modern, electric performance.

What’s Under the Hood?

Both the BE.05 and XUV e9 will share Mahindra’s new INGLO platform, specifically developed for electric vehicles. The platform promises flexibility, better handling, and quick charging capability. The BE.05 will launch with a rear-wheel-drive system, powered by a 231hp motor, while the XUV e9 is expected to follow suit with a similar but slightly more powerful configuration.

These electric SUVs will also feature multiple levels of regenerative braking, with advanced systems like one-pedal driving, where the car can come to a stop simply by lifting off the accelerator.

Ready to Take on Rivals?

With these new models, Mahindra is aiming to take on both domestic and global competitors in the electric SUV market. The BE.05 will likely square off against the Tata Nexon EV and the MG ZS EV, while the XUV e9 may aim to challenge premium offerings like the Kia EV6.

Pricing for both vehicles is expected to fall between ₹45 to ₹50 lakh for the higher variants, making them a premium offering in the Indian market. Mahindra is positioning these SUVs as luxury EVs, packed with cutting-edge tech and aggressive styling that will appeal to early adopters and EV enthusiasts.

Mahindra’s bold step into the electric vehicle market signals a new era for the company. With the BE.05 and XUV e9 poised to hit the streets soon, the brand is positioning itself as a major player in the EV space. Both models showcase Mahindra’s commitment to radical design, top-notch performance, and tech-driven interiors. For buyers looking to make the switch to electric while staying stylish, Mahindra’s Born Electric series might just be the game-changer they’ve been waiting for.

So, whether you’re in it for the futuristic looks, the thrilling performance, or the cutting-edge technology, Mahindra’s electric future promises something for everyone.
