Our Park+ Highlight of the Day includes details on the Mahindra XUV700 and the new record that it has clocked.
In India, manufacturing of the Mahindra XUV700 has surpassed the 1 lakh unit mark. Mahindra met this goal in less than two years from its first introduction in August 2021, which is impressive for an SUV like the XUV700. Since its release, the XUV700 has been in high demand in India, with waiting times for the SUV often exceeding a year. The business has increased output a few times to keep up with the escalating demand. In India, the company has so far sold around 97,000 units.
The 2.0-liter turbo-petrol and the 2.2-liter turbo-diesel engines are available for the XUV700. Both six-speed manual and automatic gears are compatible with the first. Contrarily, the diesel engine is optimised to deliver two distinct power outputs and is mated to a six-speed manual and automatic gearbox. AWD systems with higher variations powered by diesel engines are also available. The fact that all powertrains now meet the new BS6 Phase 2 and RDE emission regulations is noteworthy.
Mahindra's current flagship model, the XUV700, is available in two important trim levels: MX and AXE. While the former is available in four versions, the latter has three options—AX3, AX5, and AX7—that are further divided into 26 iterations dependent on engine and gearbox. The Mahindra XUV700 is now available for between Rs. 14 lakh and Rs. 26.18 lakh (ex-showroom, India).
The characteristics of the XUV700, in addition to its powerful powertrains, also contribute to its appeal. An ADAS suite, a 360-degree camera, LED lighting, dual-zone temperature control, and six-way adjustable front seats with memory and welcome function are just a few of the amenities that the SUV is equipped with. Additionally, it has a panoramic sunroof, an automatic parking brake, cruise control, six airbags, driving modes, and a 12-speaker audio system. It also has dual 10.25-inch screens for the infotainment system and instrument cluster.
