Mahindra XEV 9e Scores Five Stars in BNCAP Tests

The Mahindra XEV 9e and BE 6 models have also attained five-star ratings in both BNCAP safety tests in addition to proving the company's safety mission with extra features and enhanced engineering.

XEV 9e fresh electric SUV model in the company’s production that started in June this year at Mahindra’s Indian plant, today boasts of a five-star safety rating in the BNCAP safety ratings. Only the BE 6 that followed the XEV 9e in the program got 100 per cent in adult occupant protection.

BNCAP Test Results: A Closer Look

  • Adult Occupant Protection

  • Score: 32/32

  • In crash tests, the XEV 9e recorded high levels of structural stiffness and the integration of highly developed safety devices for the safety of adult occupants.

  • Child Occupant Protection

  • Score: 45/49

  • Anchorage points and compatibility with complex child-seat systems also contributed to the achievement of a high result in this segment.

Comprehensive Safety Features

The XEV 9e is equipped with cutting-edge safety technologies:

  • Level 2 Radar-Based ADAS Suite: It is also known as intelligent cruise control; its assets are forward-emergency alert and automatic lane centring.

  • 360-degree Camera: This results in improved detachability and much simpler manipulation particularly in a congested area since more space in the automobile is utilized.

  • Seven Airbags: Offers fairly acceptable rates of passive safety to the users.

Mahindra’s Commitment to Safety

Speaking on the achievement, R. Velusamy, President of Automotive Technology at Mahindra, said:

“The BE 6 and the XEV 9e mark a new era for Mahindra and automotive safety in India. Built on the INGLO architecture and powered by the revolutionary MAIA system, these vehicles set new benchmarks in safety and technology.”

The INGLO platform underlying the full range of electric vehicles from Mahindra is solid and ready for upgrades in new technologies implemented in MAIA including the changes to user interfaces enhanced with artificial intelligence.

Conclusion

Already popular with five-star BNCAP ratings, the Mahindra XEV 9e and BE 6 deliver the company’s safety message and progress. Mahindra has always ensured great engineering went into its vehicles and innovation of the new safety solutions that go into its cars makes it the leading automotive safety solutions in India.
