Mahindra Thar Roxx Rolls Into Dealerships Feature Rich 5 Door Suv Ready For Test Drives

Mahindra Thar Roxx Rolls into Dealerships: Feature-Rich 5-Door SUV Ready for Test Drives

Mahindra has officially launched the much-anticipated Thar Roxx, a 5-door variant of the beloved Thar, and it's already creating waves in the Indian SUV market. Priced from Rs 12.99 lakh, the Thar Roxx is aimed squarely at competitors like the Maruti Jimny and the 5-door Force Gurkha. Designed to combine rugged off-road capabilities with premium features, the Thar Roxx promises to be more than just an adventurer’s SUV. It seeks to dominate both urban streets and challenging terrains alike.

Arrival at Dealerships

Mahindra’s Thar Roxx has now started arriving at dealerships across India, offering SUV enthusiasts their first chance to experience this commanding vehicle in person. With test drives slated to begin from 14th September and official bookings opening on 3rd October, interested buyers have just a few days to wait before they can get behind the wheel. For now, display units are being set up at select dealerships, where potential customers can take a close look at theThar Roxx and appreciate its road presence, features, and design.

Though Mahindra has only revealed the prices of the RWD variants so far, the 4×4 variant pricing is expected to be announced on the day bookings begin. The 4×4 versions are set to be particularly appealing for those looking to take full advantage of the Thar’s off-road prowess.

Design and Dimensions

Mahindra’s Thar Roxx has already impressed with its robust design and premium features. The SUV’s aggressive stance is complemented by a bold new grille, signature latched hood, broad fenders, and a prominent bumper. At 4,428 mm long and 1,923 mm tall, the Thar Roxx is significantly larger than many compact SUVs on the market, ensuring spacious interiors and a commanding road presence. For buyers who value space and comfort, these larger dimensions may make the Thar Roxx an attractive option over smaller SUVs.

To further enhance its rugged looks, the top variant of the Thar Roxx comes equipped with sporty R19 diamond-cut alloy wheels. The running boards are robust, designed for durability and to add to the overall tough aesthetic of the SUV.

A Blend of Comfort and Off-Road Capabilities

One of the key selling points of the Thar Roxx is its ability to cater to a diverse range of needs. Mahindra has packed in a comprehensive list of features that ensure both comfort and off-road capability. For daily urban driving, buyers can enjoy a panoramic sunroof, dual 26.03-inch screens for the instrument and digital cluster, and a Harman Kardon premium sound system for a high-quality audio experience. Additionally, features like front ventilated seats, a leatherette-wrapped dashboard, and a cooled glove box bring luxury to the Thar’s rugged persona.

For tech enthusiasts, the Thar Roxx is equipped with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, along with power-folding ORVMs for added convenience. The infotainment system promises to keep users connected and entertained whether they are navigating through city traffic or heading off-road.

On the off-road front, Mahindra has introduced segment-first features with the Thar Roxx 4×4 variants, such as SmartCrawl and Intelliturn, designed to enhance its ability to tackle difficult terrains. The 4×4 variants will undoubtedly appeal to off-road enthusiasts who demand top performance from their SUV in harsh conditions.

Safety First

When it comes to safety, the Thar Roxx is well ahead of its competitors. Mahindra has ensured that the SUV is packed with advanced safety features, making it a compelling choice for buyers. Among the highlights are Level 2 ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems), automatic emergency braking, a front camera, and a 360-degree surround-view monitor. These features are designed to provide both convenience and enhanced safety, whether you’re driving in the city or off-road.

The electric park brake with auto-hold and blind-view detection add further layers of safety, ensuring that drivers are well-supported in challenging driving conditions. The Thar Roxx is also expected to earn a top safety rating in NCAP crash tests, making it one of the safest options in its segment.

Powertrain Options

Under the hood, the Thar Roxx comes with two engine options: a 2.0-litre turbo petrol and a 2.2-litre diesel engine. The petrol engine is available in two configurations, delivering 162 PS with 330 Nm of torque or 177 PS with 380 Nm of torque. The diesel, too, comes in two configurations, offering either 152 PS with 330 Nm of torque or 175 PS with 370 Nm of torque.

Both engine options are available with either a 6-speed manual or 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission, allowing buyers to choose a configuration that best suits their driving style. With a combination of power, torque, and advanced off-road systems, the Thar Roxx is more than capable of handling a variety of driving conditions.

Conclusion

With its powerful design, spacious interiors, and extensive list of features, the Mahindra Thar Roxx is set to make a significant impact in the Indian SUV market. Whether for urban driving or off-road adventures, the Thar Roxx promises to deliver a versatile and premium experience, making it one of the most exciting SUV launches of the year.
