Kia Carens Gets a Price Hike – Here’s What’s Changed

Kia India has revised the prices of the Carens MPV, with select variants receiving a hike of up to ₹10,000. The new starting price is ₹10.60 lakh (ex-showroom).

If you were planning to buy a Kia Carens, you might have to stretch your budget slightly. Kia India has increased the prices of its popular MPV by up to ₹10,000 across select variants, making it a bit more expensive. This price hike comes as part of Kia’s broader revision, which also affects models like the Seltos and Sonet.

New Price Structure for Kia Carens

The updated ex-showroom price for the Kia Carens now starts at ₹10.60 lakh. Among the eight available variants—Premium, Premium (O), Prestige (O), Gravity, Prestige Plus, Prestige Plus (O), Luxury Plus, and X Line—the Gravity variant has received the steepest hike of ₹10,000.

Additionally, the Luxury Plus variant with the diesel engine now costs ₹19 lakh (ex-showroom). This makes it the most premium offering in the Carens lineup.

Engine and Transmission Options

Despite the price increase, the mechanical specifications of the Carens remain unchanged. The MPV continues to be powered by two engine options:

  • 1.5-litre petrol engine

  • 1.5-litre diesel engine

In terms of gearbox choices, Kia offers a variety of options to cater to different driving preferences:

  • The petrol variants are available with a 6-speed manual transmission, an Intelligent Manual Transmission (iMT), and a 7-speed DCT automatic gearbox.

  • The diesel variants come with a 6-speed manual transmission and a 6-speed torque converter automatic unit.

Why the Price Hike?

The price increase could be attributed to rising input costs, raw material inflation, and feature upgrades across Kia’s model lineup. The Carens, known for its spacious cabin, premium features, and practical three-row seating, has been a strong performer in the MPV segment.

Is the Kia Carens Still Worth Buying?

Despite the price hike, the Kia Carens continues to be a strong contender in the MPV segment, competing against models like the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, Toyota Rumion, and Hyundai Alcazar. With its multiple powertrain options, advanced tech features, and premium design, the Carens remains a great choice for families looking for a feature-packed, comfortable, and stylish three-row vehicle.

If you're considering purchasing the Kia Carens, it might be best to book one soon before any further price revisions. Stay tuned for more updates on Kia’s latest models, price changes, and new feature additions!
