Jetour T2 Secures 5-Star ASEAN NCAP Rating Ahead of India Debut

Developed by China's Chery Automobile and destined for India under the JSW Motors banner, the Jetour T2 has cleared its first major safety benchmark with a five-star ASEAN NCAP rating. Accumulating 86.50 points across four test categories under the 2021–2025 protocol, the SUV has established credible safety credentials well ahead of its anticipated Diwali 2026 launch in the country.

  • A category-by-category breakdown of the Jetour T2's ASEAN NCAP crash test performance, including scores, test outcomes, and areas of concern.

  • A complete overview of the SUV's standard and optional safety equipment, and the competitive context it enters upon arriving in India.

The Jetour T2 has completed its debut safety evaluation under the ASEAN NCAP 2021–2025 testing protocol, securing a five-star rating with a cumulative score of 86.50 points. The assessment, which spans four defined categories, was conducted on the SUV developed by China's Chery Automobile, the same model expected to serve as the foundation for JSW Motors' first product in India.

JSW Motors has already filed a design patent in India and publicly teased a silhouette bearing a close resemblance to the T2. The India-bound model is expected to carry revised branding and a new nameplate, with its launch scheduled around Diwali 2026.

Notably, this venture operates independently from MG Motor India, functioning as a separate JSW-Chery collaboration.
