With the introduction of Mahindra's first full-size three-row electric SUV, the XEV 9S, a new era in the Indian EV market has begun. The XEV 9S is designed for families and SUV consumers who want to transition to electric mobility without sacrificing comfort or power.
It is built from the ground up on the company's INGLO electric platform and combines powerful electric performance, roomy seven-seater practicality, and low price.

Performance, features, and powertrain
The XEV 9S's powertrain architecture is similar to that of some of the company's previous EV models. It is one of the most potent seven-seater EVs under ₹70 lakh, with up to 282 horsepower and 380 Nm of torque. In its greatest form, the acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h takes about 7 seconds.
The XEV 9S doesn't compromise on features despite its affordable price. In addition to a panoramic sunroof and a sophisticated three-screen cabin configuration, buyers also receive a number of comfort and convenience features, including heated middle-row seats and advanced driver assistance support in higher models.
Strategy and market positioning
The XEV 9S, a "ground-up" EV rather than a modified internal-combustion design, is being promoted as India's first mass-market electric seven-seater SUV.
The XEV 9S is positioned to give the efficiency and smoothness of an EV with the utility of a large SUV, and its pricing undercuts many comparable-sized ICE SUVs, potentially changing the EV purchasing landscape. Analysts predict that it will be the brand's best-selling EV to date due to its combination of value, performance, and spaciousness.
Colour Options
The XEV 9S is available in a number of eye-catching exterior colors, providing customers with a range of styles to suit their preferences and sense of style. The six colour options offered are:
- Stealth Black
- Ruby Velvet (a deep red)
- Everest White
- Desert Myst (a silver-gold blend)
- Midnight Black (a deeper, darker shade of black)
- Nebula Blue (a lighter metallic blue)
The SUV's light, airy interior design with beige and olive accents creates a contemporary yet cozy atmosphere for its occupants.
