Hyundai To Equip Creta Verna And More With Made In India Amaron Agm Batteries

Hyundai to Equip Creta, Verna, and More with Made-in-India Amaron AGM Batteries

Hyundai Motor India is set to enhance its vehicles by introducing locally manufactured Absorbent Glass Mat (AGM) batteries. Partnering with Amara Raja Energy & Mobility Limited (ARE&M), Hyundai plans to equip models like the Creta and Verna with these advanced batteries, aiming to improve performance and durability for Indian drivers.

What Are AGM Batteries?

These are a kind of lead-acid battery where the electrolyte is absorbed into a fiberglass mat that results in several advantages over traditional batteries, including faster charging, longer lifespan, and better performance under various temperatures. These features make AGM batteries particularly suitable for modern vehicles equipped with features like Idle Stop and Go (ISG) systems.

Benefits for Indian Drivers

The introduction of Amaron's AGM batteries is expected to bring several benefits to Hyundai owners in India:

  • Enhanced Durability: AGM batteries have demonstrated approximately 150% better performance in durability tests compared to conventional Complete Maintenance Free (CMF) batteries. This is anticipated to result in a longer lifespan and fewer replacements for car owners.

  • Better Performance in Indian Conditions: With a wider operational temperature range, these batteries are well-suited to handle the diverse and often extreme weather conditions across India.

  • Quick Charging and Low Maintenance: AGM batteries charge faster and require minimal maintenance, providing a hassle-free experience for drivers.

Hyundai's Commitment to Localization

By adopting locally produced AGM batteries, Hyundai reinforces its commitment to sourcing innovative technologies within India. This move not only supports local manufacturing but also ensures that the products are tailored to meet the specific needs of Indian consumers.

Extensive Testing and Validation

Before introducing these batteries into their vehicles, Hyundai conducted rigorous testing at its global R&D center in Namyang, South Korea. This thorough validation process ensures that the Amaron AGM batteries meet Hyundai's high standards and comply with Indian emission regulations.

In summary, Hyundai's collaboration with Amara Raja to introduce Made-in-India AGM batteries marks a significant step towards enhancing vehicle performance and customer satisfaction in India. By focusing on localization and adopting advanced technologies, Hyundai continues to demonstrate its dedication to meeting the evolving needs of Indian drivers.
