Hyundai Creta Facelift: What to expect with the 2024 Hyundai Creta?

The facelift is scheduled for Jan 16, 2024, and the pricing is yet to be revealed.

Hyundai Creta Facelift

Hyundai, India’s top car manufacturer, has always been loved for the Hyundai Creta. It claims to be the most popular compact SUV in the market, and dominates the segment for all the right reasons. But as the saying goes, “Why be the king, when you can be god?” Hyundai is planning a revamp in its most popular model and plans to bring the Facelifted Hyundai Creta, by next year, to the Indian market. While the unveiling of the same is scheduled for January 16, and we will surely bring you detailed analysis during that time, here is sneak peak for our expectations from the new facelift:

What Hyundai change in Creta Facelift?

1. Design Revamp

While we have information about the design from the facelifts in Indonesian market and other global markets, the fact that Indian Market is always unique cannot be ignored. As per the surfaced images, the SUV is planned to be longer and the headlights and DRLs are more likely to be squared. The bumpers (both front and rear),and the front grille are rumoured to be revamped as well, in the new design.

The profile seems to be unaltered except for the new alloy wheel design and the split and connected LED tail lights at the back, accompanied by sequential turn indicators.

The dashboard is also rumoured to be getting a soft touch and leatherette revamp, along with different options for the Special Edition Creta.

2. New Feature sets

The featurette is getting an addition like dual 10.25 inch touchscreen and driver’s display, ventilated and heated front seats etc, taking it on par with the rivals Kia Seltos and Hyundai Verna. Additional features are expected to bring Switchable controls for infotainment and AirConditioner, with dual-zone climate control.

3. Safety improved

While the old models have an NCAP rating of 3/5, the car manufacturer plans to include more features to enhance the safety of its passengers. These include 6 airbags as the standard, and an improved ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems).

The competitors are offering level 2 ADAS in their newer models such as Seltos and Verna, and Hyundai plans to bring it to the beast as well. This will include lane keep assist, forward collision warning, cruise control (adaptive) and forward collision warning indicators.

If these were less, then Hyundai is here with their original safety features including ABS with EBD, electronic stability control (ESC), rear parking sensors, a rearview camera, hill start assist, a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), and ISOFIX child seat anchors. Hyundai might additionally introduce a 360-degree camera.

4. Engine: Powerful and Smoother

Currently, Hyundai Creta models are powered by 1.5L naturally aspirated petrol engines or a 1.5L diesel engine (115 PS and 144 NM or 116 PS and 250 NM, respectively). With standard 6-speed manual transmission, the customer is having a 6-speed automatic option as well.

Hyundai plans to replace the turbo-petrol engine with 160 PS and 253 NM new 1.5L petrol unit to enhance power and fuel efficiency. This ensures that the compact SUV stands firm among the competition with similar offerings.

5. Pricing

While the exact pricing will be revealed subsequently, in the months after the facelift, the car is expected to be priced at around INR 10.5 lakh for the base variant (*ex-showroom). This will place it in direct competition with the likes of Kia Seltos, Maruti Grand Vitara, and Toyota Hyryder.

The 2024 Hyundai Creta Facelift anticipates a design overhaul with elongated structure, revamped bumpers, and upgraded interiors. Expect advanced features like dual touchscreens, improved safety, and a more powerful 1.5L petrol engine, poised to compete at around INR 10.5 lakh (*ex-showroom)."
