How Is The New Hyundai Alcazar Comparable To The Old One

How is the new Hyundai Alcazar comparable to the old one?

Hyundai Alcazar has been one of the most popular SUVs in the Hyundai SUV segment. And now it is about to receive a significant facelift. The official launch is scheduled for September 9. Hyundai has already teased us with a sneak peek of the revamped interior, and it’s clear that the 2024 model is poised to bring in some exciting changes. If you’ve been wondering how the new Alcazar’s interior stacks up against the old model, we’ve got you covered. Let's dive into the details and see what makes the new Alcazar stand out.

A New Color Palette

One of the most noticeable changes in the new Hyundai Alcazar is the color scheme of the cabin. The older model features a classic black and tan combination, which gives it a sophisticated yet understated look. However, the 2024 Alcazar introduces a fresh dual-tone theme, combining tan with dark blue. This new color palette not only adds a touch of modernity but also makes the interior feel more vibrant and inviting. The shift from black to dark blue is subtle yet effective, giving the cabin a more upscale vibe.

A Revamped Dashboard Design

The dashboard of the new Alcazar has undergone a significant transformation. While the older model has a functional and straightforward dashboard, the facelifted version aims to elevate the overall experience. The new design incorporates a more premium look, with a sleeker and more streamlined appearance. One of the key updates is the integration of dual displays, similar to what we’ve seen in the Hyundai Creta. These dual 10.25-inch screens are housed in a single, continuous panel, providing a seamless and modern aesthetic.

In addition to the updated screens, the dashboard now includes a new storage compartment above the glovebox. This feature is a practical addition, offering extra space for small items that might otherwise clutter the cabin. It’s a small change, but one that adds to the convenience and functionality of the interior.

Touch-Based Climate Control

Another significant upgrade in the new Alcazar is the introduction of a dual-zone automatic climate control system. The older model features a more conventional setup, with physical buttons and knobs to control the temperature. In contrast, the 2024 version opts for a touch-based interface, which not only looks more futuristic but also simplifies the user experience. The new system allows for more precise control over the climate settings, ensuring that both the driver and passengers remain comfortable, no matter the weather outside.

Sleeker AC Vents and Redesigned Center Console

The facelifted Alcazar also brings changes to the air conditioning vents. In the older model, the central AC vents are positioned above the infotainment system and have a more traditional design. The new model, however, takes a different approach. The central vents are now slimmer and positioned below the infotainment screen, contributing to a cleaner and more streamlined look. The side vents have also been redesigned and are now horizontal, replacing the vertical vents of the previous version.

The center console has been refreshed as well, moving away from the black finish of the older model. The 2024 Alcazar features a silver finish on the center console, which complements the overall design of the cabin. This change might seem minor, but it plays a big role in enhancing the visual appeal of the interior.

Enhanced Comfort and Seating Options

Hyundai has always prioritized comfort in the Alcazar, and the new model is no exception. The 2024 Alcazar will continue to be available in both 6- and 7-seater configurations, catering to different needs and preferences. However, the new model brings some notable improvements in seating comfort, particularly in the 6-seater variant.

In the older model, the second row of the 6-seater version features a fixed center armrest. The new Alcazar, however, replaces this with individual armrests for each captain seat, allowing for a more personalized and comfortable experience. Additionally, the 2024 model introduces a sunshade, fold-out tray, and flip-out cup holder in the second row, making long journeys more convenient and enjoyable.

One of the standout features in the new model is the "boss mode," available in the 6-seater configuration. This feature allows the passenger seated behind the co-driver to adjust the front seat, creating extra legroom in the second row. It’s a thoughtful addition that enhances comfort, especially for those long road trips.

Advanced Seat Features and Technology

The seats in the new Alcazar come with several advanced features aimed at enhancing comfort and convenience. Ventilated seats are available in both the front and second rows (in the 6-seater variant), a feature that is sure to be appreciated during hot summer days. The driver’s seat also offers 8-way power adjustment, along with two memory-saving functions, allowing for quick and easy adjustments.

The new model retains some of the popular features from the older version, such as the panoramic sunroof and rear AC vents. However, it also adds a wireless phone charger for the rear passengers, in addition to the one already present in the front. The 7-seater variant continues to offer the tumble-down feature for the second-row seats, making it easier to access the last row.

Powertrain Options and Competitors

Under the hood, the 2024 Hyundai Alcazar will offer both petrol and diesel engine options, similar to the older model. The petrol variant will feature a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine with 160 PS of power and 253 Nm of torque, while the diesel variant will come with a 1.5-litre engine delivering 116 PS and 250 Nm of torque. Transmission options will include a 6-speed manual, 7-speed dual-clutch automatic (for the petrol variant), and 6-speed automatic (for the diesel variant).

As for its rivals, the facelifted Alcazar will continue to compete with other popular SUVs in the segment, including the Tata Safari, Mahindra XUV700, and MG Hector Plus. With the expected price starting from Rs 17 lakh (ex-showroom), the new Alcazar is set to offer strong competition in terms of features, comfort, and overall value.

In conclusion, The 2024 Hyundai Alcazar brings a host of interior upgrades that make it a compelling choice for SUV buyers. From the refreshed dashboard design and new color scheme to the enhanced seating comfort and advanced technology features, the new Alcazar takes what was already a solid vehicle and makes it even better. Whether you’re looking for a family-friendly SUV or a stylish and comfortable ride for long journeys, the new Alcazar has something to offer. As we await its official launch, one thing is clear: Hyundai has made a good SUV even better, and the competition will have to work hard to keep up.
