Honda has commenced the production of the Elevate SUV ahead of its launch in September

Honda has started production of the Elevate SUV which is 90 per cent localized and will be manufactured at Tapukara, Rajasthan. The company says that it will be exported as well. Bookings for the Honda Elevate SUV have already commenced and interested customers can book the SUV for a token amount of Rs. 21,000. Honda Elevate prices are expected to be revealed before the festive season, which could be around September. The Honda Elevate can be expected in showrooms for display soon.

The car will share its underpinnings with the fifth-gen Honda City and will be offered a 1.5-litre engine, and likely a 1.5-litre strong hybrid powertrain as well. The City’s engine makes 121 bhp and 145 Nm of torque. Transmission options could be a six-speed manual and a CVT, just like the Honda City.

The Honda Elevate measures 4,312 mm in length, 1,790 mm in width and 1,650 mm in height with a wheelbase of 2,650 mm. The styling cues have been borrowed from the outgoing CR-V and WR-V in the international markets. It has a ground clearance of 220 mm.

The cabin features a 10.2-inch digital touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a 7.0-inch digital instrument cluster with multi-information display (MID), auto climate control, single-pane sunroof, Honda’s ADAS suite that includes collision mitigation braking, adaptive cruise control, and lane departure alert to name a few.

It will be taking on some popular models like the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Volkswagen Taigun, Skoda Slavia, and MG Astor, among others.
