In line with this, Honda Cars India is giving its City sedan range a spicy touch with a new addition to the City family in the form of a City Sport variant, which has now begun reaching several dealership outlets throughout India.
The City Sport is aimed at consumers who desire a more visually sporting package but do not wish to change the existing mechanical features list. This new variant, based on the City V CVT, demands an extra price of approximately Rs 49000 and has a cosmetic touch to further enhance its appeal to the dynamic front.
Aggressive Styling All Around
As the midpoint variant between the V and the VX trim, the Honda City Sport model is a special one due to several updates on its exterior. The highlighter modifications are a sporty black grille with slatted inserts (the diamond mesh is gone), a multiple-spoke grey alloy wheel, crystal black ORVMs with in-built indicators, and a glossy black shark fin antenna.
A black lip spoiler is positioned at the back, and a special metallic badging with the word Sport is in place, making it stronger in its identity.
Red Accents All- Black Cabin
The City Sport is much bolder (within the interior theme) and this is what you can see when you step inside. It will incorporate all-black cabin against red stitching on its seats, gear lever and steering wheel.
The seats are covered with quality leatherette, and the dash is given dark red accent colours and soft-touch door accents. Other new features are shiny black AC vents, and black headliner and a 7-colour ambient lighting system to make the cabin more engaging.
Price Format, Features and Pricing
The Honda City Sport is available in three colour options, which include Radiant Red Metallic, Meteoroid Grey Metallic and Platinum White Pearl. The two former cost Rs 14.88 lakh, whereas the white paint version is higher to the tune of Rs 14.96 lakh (all prices ex-showroom).
At the equipment level, the Sport variant is similar to the V CVT variant with features such as an 8-inch touchscreen, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, 4-speaker sound system and Honda Sensing ADAS technology to drive safety levels.
The Powertrain is the Same
Mechanically, the City Sport remains the same. It is followed by the 1.5-litre petrol that provides 121 PS along with 145 Nm in tandem with a CVT gearbox. The engine is E20 fuel compliant, which makes it future-ready, as well as having smooth performance both in the city and highway.
Honda City Sport, as a value-based product with sporty looks and reliability of mechanics, promises to deliver as an attractive choice to the design-oriented customers in urban areas.
