Maruti Suzuki has been a prominent player in the automotive industry for many years. To uphold its reputation, the company is set to introduce the fourth generation of its model in the Indian market. The unveiling of the car is scheduled for May 9, and it is already open for bookings with a booking amount of Rs 11,000 at Maruti Suzuki's Arena dealerships. The latest version of the hatchback has undergone several upgrades with the new generation.
The 2024 Maruti Suzuki Swift showcases a redesigned exterior, featuring changes in its front fascia with a new headlamp design incorporating projector LED lights and DRLs. The car's grille has been updated, and the turning indicators have been integrated into the headlamp assembly. Additionally, a new bumper design with provision for fog lamps at the bottom enhances the front look. The rear of the car maintains a familiar design from the previous model, complemented by dual-tone and monotone paint options, along with sporty new alloy wheels.
Inside the cabin of the 2024 Swift, significant changes have been made to align with the international model. It boasts a 9-inch floating touchscreen infotainment system, Arkamys sound system, wireless charging, rear AC vents, and an updated instrument cluster combining analogue dials with digital elements. The car also features a new steering wheel with controls for convenience and new upholstery to enhance the overall interior aesthetics.
Upon its release, the 2024 Maruti Suzuki Swift is expected to be available in five trim levels: LXI, VXI, VXI(O), ZXI, and ZXI+. Each variant will cater to different consumer needs with various features, ranging from base-level LXI to the top-tier ZXI+.
In the powertrain department, the 2024 Swift will be equipped with a mild-hybrid 1.2-litre 3-cylinder petrol engine capable of producing 80 bhp of power and 112 Nm of torque. The engine will be mated to either a five-speed manual or a five-speed AMT gearbox, providing an estimated mileage of around 25.72 kmpl.
The expected price range for the 2024 Maruti Suzuki Swift is anticipated to be between Rs 6.25 to 6.50 lakhs (ex-showroom). Once launched, the car will face competition from models like the Hyundai Grand i10, Tata Tiago, and Citroen C3, among others in the Indian market.
