From Petrol To Diesel My Journey With A Used Ford Ecosport

From Petrol to Diesel: My Journey with a Used Ford Ecosport

Buying a car is always a thrilling experience, but when it comes to choosing a used vehicle, the stakes are even higher. After a long deliberation over whether to stick with my reliable Honda City 3rd Gen, I finally decided to take the leap and switch things up. On August 16th, 2024, I drove home a 2018 Ford Ecosport Titanium+ TDCi, and let me tell you, it was one of the best decisions I’ve made.

The transition wasn’t just about moving from a petrol/CNG automatic vehicle to a diesel manual one. It was a complete overhaul of my driving experience, moving from a Japanese car to an American one, and from a modest 165mm ground clearance to a much more robust 200mm. The switch wasn’t just technical; it was a significant shift in what driving means to me.

The Ford Ecosport: A Dream Come True

The first thing that struck me about my new Ford Ecosport was how well-maintained it was. With 90,000 kilometers on the odometer, you’d think there would be signs of wear and tear, but this car was in pristine condition. The previous owner had kept detailed service records, and everything was in perfect order. The deal was too good to pass up, and I couldn’t be happier with my decision.

One of the most exhilarating aspects of this change has been the upgrade in features. Moving from a basic setup to a car packed with modern amenities has been a revelation. Every time I get behind the wheel, I find something new to appreciate, whether it’s the advanced infotainment system or the plethora of safety features. It’s like discovering a new surprise every day, and I’m still getting the hang of everything this car has to offer.

First Impressions: A Smooth Transition

Switching from an automatic to a manual transmission might seem daunting to some, but for me, it’s been a welcome change. The diesel engine of the Ecosport delivers a punchy performance that makes every drive enjoyable. The higher ground clearance gives me the confidence to tackle rough roads, and the overall sturdiness of the car adds to that sense of security.

I’ve already taken the Ecosport on a few long drives, and the experience has been nothing short of amazing. One recent trip was a 150-kilometer journey with friends, just to enjoy a plate of Misal. The car performed beautifully, handling the roads with ease and making the trip feel like a breeze. I can’t wait to clock in more kilometers and see how the car holds up on longer journeys.

Future Plans: Modṣs and More Mods

While I’m thrilled with the Ford Ecosport as it is, I can’t help but think about the possibilities for customization. I’ve got a list of modifications in mind, and I’m eager to get started on them soon. From performance upgrades to aesthetic tweaks, there’s so much I want to do to make this car truly my own.

For now, I’m holding off on any major changes until I’ve had more time to settle into the car and see how it performs over the next thousand kilometers or so. But rest assured, once I start with the mods, there’s no turning back. I’m excited to share my journey with fellow car enthusiasts and gather as much advice and feedback as possible.

Overall, Switching from my Honda City to the Ford Ecosport has been an exciting journey, and it’s only just begun. The transition from petrol/CNG automatic to diesel manual has opened up a whole new world of driving for me. The Ecosport’s ruggedness, combined with its array of features, has made every drive an adventure. I’m looking forward to many more road trips and the modifications I have planned for this car. Here’s to new beginnings and the many miles ahead!
