Final Testing For The Mahindra Xuv300 Facelift Begins Before Launch

Final Testing for the Mahindra XUV300 Facelift Begins Before Launch

Mahindra is currently conducting final testing on the XUV300 Facelift and is prepared to launch the vehicle in India in the upcoming weeks. This updated XUV300 will mark the brand's reintroduction into the fiercely competitive and highly sought-after Compact SUV class, which is populated by well-known rivals such as the Sonet, Venue, Brezza, and Nexon.

What new updates in the design and styling can be expected?

According to spy photos, the XUV300 will receive a significant styling makeover to compete with recently updated rivals like the Venue, Nexon, and Sonet. The BE lineup of Mahindra SUVs, which will go on sale in 2025, served as a major source of inspiration for the updated XUV300's styling cues. These modifications include a more pointed nose and a fully revamped drop-down LED daytime running lamp. It will also have a new two-part grille with a larger central air intake, as well as an updated bumper and headlamp assembly.

Finally, the redesigned SUV has a brand-new tailboard design with a full-width LED light bar on the back. With the new, more streamlined C-shaped tail lamps, the rear design is further updated. Additionally, the registration plate is positioned closer to the bumper than it is to the tailboard. As for new alloy wheel designs—which vary depending on the variant—we do not expect any significant changes to their profile.

Feature updates

The XUV300 facelift and the recently updated XUV400 EV's cabin will have a lot in common, even in terms of features. The 2024 XUV400 debuted a new dashboard with two 10.25-inch screens, a 360-degree camera, cooled seats, rear air conditioning vents, and other feature additions that are anticipated to be included in the XUV300 facelift.

Engine options

The current lineup of engines, which includes a 1.5-liter diesel, 1.2-liter turbocharged petrol, and 1.2-liter direct injection turbocharged petrol (TGDI)—will remain unchanged despite receiving emissions-related upgrades for BS6 Stage II standards. Aisin-sourced 6-speed automatic (torque converter) with the most potent 1.2-liter turbo-petrol (TGDI) engine, producing 131 horsepower, will be standard on the redesigned XUV300. With their 1.0-liter TSI turbo-petrol engines, the Volkswagen Taigun, Skoda Slavia, Volkswagen Virtus, and Skoda Kushaq all use the same unit. The automated manual gearbox and 6-speed manual gearbox options will be available for the remaining two engines.

Soon, the redesigned XUV300 will also have an EV powertrain option that will sit below the XUV400 EV and compete with the Nexon EV, just like their ICE counterparts. In June 2024, the EV SUV will go on sale.
