BMW Set to Launch Long-Wheelbase 5 Series in India, Challenging Mercedes-Benz E-Class LWB

After a long time, BMW seems to be planning to launch the much-awaited long-wheel base version of the newly launched fifth-generation Series Sedan in the company in the next month. Priced starting at INR 47. 49 lakh, excluding the taxes, the new variant is slated for a July 24 launch and is intended to take on the iconic Mercedes E-Class LWB where India is the second global market to get this model after China.

As such, introducing the BMW 5 Series LWB will likely bring a considerable shift in sales dynamics of the luxury sedan segment in the Indian market. It is a new model, and the exterior design of the new variant is bound to have a strong heft to its sleek demeanour and provide a new benchmark for stylish functionality. Expected features include, BMws hallmark grille, elongated LED headlights with integrated twin corona ring daytime LEDs, and a muscular lower bumper with silver insertions. Recalling the vehicle's exterior are redesigned wheels from alloy and new wraparound taillights that boost its exterior design and its elegance in as much as aerodynamics.

One of the standout attributes of the BMW 5 Series LWB is its spacious interior, designed to prioritize passenger comfort and luxury. With an extended length of 5,175mm and a wheelbase stretched by 110mm compared to the standard model, the LWB variant offers generous rear passenger space, ensuring a premium travel experience for occupants. Inside the cabin, expect to find opulent features such as a 4-zone climate control system, plush quilted upholstery, and a sophisticated two-tone design scheme. Entertainment is taken to new heights with a massive 31.1-inch display boasting an impressive 8K resolution, accompanied by a state-of-the-art Bowers & Wilkins surround sound system.

Under the hood, the BMW 5 Series LWB is anticipated to offer a choice of 2.0-litre turbo-petrol and diesel engines, equipped with a mild-hybrid system for enhanced efficiency. Paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission across the lineup, these powertrains are expected to deliver a seamless blend of performance and fuel economy, catering to the discerning needs of luxury sedan enthusiasts.

The introduction of the BMW 5 Series LWB underscores the brand's commitment to delivering unparalleled luxury and innovation to its customers. With its striking design, advanced features, and refined performance, the upcoming variant is poised to redefine the luxury sedan segment in India, offering a compelling alternative to the established Mercedes-Benz E-Class LWB.

As anticipation builds for its imminent launch, automotive enthusiasts and luxury car aficionados eagerly await the unveiling of the BMW 5 Series LWB, poised to elevate the driving experience to new heights of luxury and sophistication. Stay tuned for more updates as the launch date approaches, promising an exciting new chapter in the evolution of luxury sedans in India.
